So today FW and I went to see our first venue choice, we fell in love with it! They will let me bring the dog for the ceremony (hes my child). And we realized it would be perfect for a Harry Potter theme. We are thinking blue BM dresses for my half of the party (I'm a ravenclaw), yellow for hers (hufflepuff). maybe signature drinks depending on cost, (we have a tight budget for 75 guests). I found some really cute bouquets on etsy that have the roses made from pages of the books. I'm really concerned about it becoming tacky. But I would also love ideas and suggestions.

We are just adding subtle touches of our fandoms here and there. Our champagne flutes say "I love you" and "I know" for a nod to star wars and I am in the process of making a sign that says "She's a catch. He's a keeper." pictured below. Our memory table will have the quote "The one's we love never truly leave us. They're here, in our hearts, you see."

I love this! I'm a Slytherin marrying a Gryffindor. FH isn't as into Harry Potter as I am, so I know I can't get away with much. I did finally win him over with just one little touch of Harry Potter. We're going to buy a sorting hat to have with the seating chart, so it's like the sorting hat is dividing everyone up into seats.

I'm thinking of some subtle HP touches too. FH relented to my idea of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans as a favor (woohoo!). Our cake topper and signature drinks will also be nods to Harry Potter.
