I think make up was my hardest vendor- I don't want to spend a ton of money, or look like a clown. I did pick my girl because after the trial I wanted something completely different and she made me a new appointment and didn't charge me anything. That is the kind of person I want to work with!! Having a band. It was really important to FH as a musician himself to have a live band. I was not on board at all. The band was way out of our budget and cost us our original honeymoon, and at the time a DOC. I also am not convinced a band is the best option either way so we'll see. I did end up getting a DOC and I know it was super important to FH and he came up with the money himself so I agreed.

Our hardest vendor decision has been photographer. Between looking for good price vs. looking for good pictures. We don't have the budget for a $3,000 wedding photographer but working in television myself I have high standards. We found one person we really like at the right price but it took a lot of digging.

Second hardest was florist. We couldn't justify spending $3,000 on leaves (we are using a lot of greenery) so we opted to go with real greenery for all of the reception tables but faux silk flowers for the bouquets. Every other vendor choice has been a breeze.

First of all I love the Portlandia gif, but so far we only have our venue. I think we’re having a hard time finding a photographer that we love

Venue and photographer were probably the two hardest/longest decisions. We did a lot of research for both, but once we had the venue figured out, we kind of just worked off of them for the rest of the vendors. They had a list of vendors they have worked with in the past, which is how we found most of our vendors. Our photographer also had a list, so I used that for other vendors (hair and makeup artist).

Most of my vendors were easy because I went off of recommendations from my photographer and dress shop owner. I knew they would know good vendors that would have the aesthetic I was looking for.

My hardest decision was definitely the videographer! We're on a budget, and videographers range from $500-$5000 in our area. We finally made a decision by analyzing the videos, the best package value for results, but mostly REVIEWS! I always obsess over reviews and make sure to read all of them. Ultimately, we made a decision because of this.

So far I think the hardest part was the photographer, but I found one I love and I can't wait to work with her. Also nervous about the MUA.

Hardest for me was/is a florist. I have had sit down consultations with 3 different ones. I had to pull teeth to get the first quote...took six weeks. The second florist was on top of it and the third I am also struggling to get a quote from. If you have bad communication, I am not hiring you!

The hardest was the videographer. Trying to find someone within our budget with good reviews was daunting, but we finally found one.

I thought it was the DJ, but that worked out for the best.

Right now it is hair and makeup. I have a small wedding party that is very low maintenance, so I will be the only one wearing makeup, which makes makeup artist not want to come. For hair some need a minimum of $700 or 5 people! It is getting frustrating! Smiley angry

The venue. We probably contacted almost 30 different places and toured 10 over a 2.5 month period. Each time we were about ready to put down a deposit something would go wrong.

The first told us the coordinator was new, didn't check with her boss before promising things and we couldn't have the garden room promised during our tour and wanted us to move to a small windowless conference room.

The second, "accidentally" gave our date away and then tried to move us to a month earlier on what happens to be my 30th birthday and started backtracking on what was included in our package.

Another told us they were actually going to be closing for renovations and might be open and running again in time for our wedding if we wanted to take the chance!

One place, renowned in our city for their wedding chapel/restaurant told us we could do it there but, our options were to have dinner served at 9 p.m. after the "more important wedding" or we could do it in the main dining room and be treated like all other dinner guests who walked in that day including possibly needing to wait for a table since they don't take reservations.

I think it was particularly tough because we are having a very small wedding (25 ppl at most). Many places told us we were not worth their time which was very disheartening.

Thankfully, we finally found a beautiful all-inclusive hotel with excellent reviews, an amazing coordinator, and an award-winning chef who was willing to work with us. It was actually the third place we toured and we immediately fell in love but, it was way over our budget. Just as we were about to give up and elope the venue coordinator reached out to me to see if we would be interested in taking a cancellation spot that just opened up. The date happened to be the weekend we originally wanted and they worked with us on pricing. We negotiated them down to almost half their original quote and they threw in the open bar package for free (previously was a consumption bar). We could not be happier and are so glad everything has worked out. We've met with them since to go over a few things and they have been beyond helpful and accommodating much more so than any other place we toured.

So far the venue and DJ have been our most difficult. We had everything planned and even deposit made to a place in Las Vegas, then one weekend FH and I looked at each other and said "I want to get married locally". So we started over. We found venue quickly and loved all our vendors but we just couldn't figure out DJ. We did find an amazing one though so we are all good.

Venue for sure. I searched and searched found what i thought was the perfect venue but they had really bad communication . Never followed up with me as promised which was a major blow because we really loved this venue. Needless to say we didn't go with the original venue we found another which we never considered but the customer service and follow up was just so amazing!

Hair and makeup as our ceremony is early and I needed to find a salon close to venue that opens at 8. The rest was easy, really.

Great question! For us I'd say it was the florist. We were toying with DIY vs having it done for us but with small budget. We signed today and I'm thrilled. No DIY, she's renting us everything we need including the flickering candles, setting up and breaking down. YAY!

The hardest decision for my daughter was to pick a date...lol...this is the third date. On the previous date I had researched over 350 venues, narrowing them down to what she thought she wanted. They originally want November 17, then changed to New Years Eve so then we changed the type of venue and restarted....About June of last year they decided they didn't want to get married on New Years Eve.....I let thing s go for a while, occasionally asked if they decided on a date and when her fiancé was working out of town they had a discussion and finally picked 11-18. One of the venues we were looking at had several locations through out the state however we didn't tour one or even request info for the venue. We were not finding what they wanted so I eventually contacted the venue, toured it and they agreed......Honestly since the date has been picked, everything else is falling into place...

HMUA was my hardest. It was so hard to find someone I liked within my budget and I looked for weeks. I ended up going over my budget by $260 so I could get the girl I really wanted.
