Happy 4th of July... Still wondering about the dress...

Stefanie, on July 4, 2020 at 12:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Happy 4th of July! Two weeks until my July 18th wedding and I am still having second thoughts on my dress. I dont feel that pretty in it. I know I am irritating everyone on here but I just stand this feeling. 😭
I tried on a shorter lace dress that I own with my wedding jewelry and veil and LOOOOOOVE how I look and feel in it. Maybe this is what I should wear?

Here is a side by side comparison of the two.

They're both pretty. I love the short one more though and quite honestly I think its because I can see how much happier you are in it. Definitely go with your gut. I've seen your posts and the fact that you've had doubts about your current dress for so long means something. Short dress for the win!

Certainly wear the short dress if you prefer it! I recall your prior post about second guessing your other dress. But the hesitation seemed to be based on others’ preference toward more elaborate/detailed dresses. So before deciding on the shorter dress, maybe take a little time to really determine... do you “love” it? Do you truly “love” it more than the long dress? Or are you simply seeking a quick substitute based on others and not on your own desire. I actually prefer your longer dress. I also like the longer dress with the veil more than when it’s paired with the short dress. This is totally just MY opinion... shorter dresses look best with more simple headpieces (flowers... birdcage veil... blusher veil... floral halo, etc). Otherwise the longer veil with the short dress is giving me a youthful First Holy Communion vibe.

Both are nice! I do agree with PP in that I like the shorter dress better with the flower crown headpiece, and the longer dress better with a veil

I love both dresses a lot (very similar lace design/pattern). Could you wear both dresses? Long dress for ceremony...short dress for the party?

I would wear the long for the ceremony and the short one for the reception. They are both beautiful!

As PP said, I like the idea of using the long sleeve dress for the ceremony and the short sleeve for reception

Thanks everyone. I am sticking with the long sleeved dress. Everyone who knows me (except fiance - he hasnt seen it) says this dress is perfect for me. I put it on again and took a long hard look at myself... It is pretty and it IS me. I think I am too hard on myself. I appreciate the patience that all of you have with me.

I agree. Trust your gut. You bought it for a reason. Wear the dress you selected originally, or you will have regrets for sure.
It's "you " looks fantastic with the veil. The shorter dress, does not scream
"Bride" to me, like the original one does.
