Handwriting Addresses on Save the Dates?

Did you ladies hand write addresses on your the save the dates and invitations? or did you have labels made, or printed right on the envelope? I just don't want them to look tacky but I want to save money everywhere I can! Might be a dumb question, but I just want to see what everyone else has done....

We used clear labels for both STDs and invites. No way I was handwriting any of that!

I hand-wrote the addresses on the save the dates because they were postcards, but I printed the addresses directly on the envelopes for the invitations. I did a few trial-and-errors and then I was set, it was MUCH easier than I anticipated. I love the way they turned out. I downloaded some free beautiful fonts and played around with fonts until it was exactly what I wanted.

I hand wrote ours, and then FH added a cute little stamps on the seal. I have some crooked ones and all, but the people who love us are the people we are inviting, so they won't mind! haha. I recommend video taping putting them in the mail box when you send them out! It's a big moment! :-)

Don't sweat it-- have you ever really paid attention to how your mail was addressed? Hand write them, use labels-- I can hardly think of a detail that matters less, as long as they're legible so the PO can deliver them!

We're going to go with printing it directly onto the envelope. Haven't decided yet if we'll be doing this ourselves or if we'll have the invitation vendor do it for us (we still have a year) but it will def be printed on it. Our handwriting sucks! Our original plan was to either learn or hire someone with calligraphy skills but the most recent wedding invitation we received had the vendor print the addresses on with a very nice font so it ended up looking great.

I hand wrote my STD with a calligraphy pen (I'm not very good) and invitations I used my company's ink/printer and printed right on the envelopes. Personally I don't like the look of labels.

I handwrote all of mine. It took the better portion of an afternoon, but it got done!

I'm printing on my envelopes and then going over it in a gold pen so it looks nicely handwritten. I've been practicing with the fonts I want to use and experimenting with different pens to find the best one. It's going to take a while to get them all done since we're doing inner and outer envelopes, but it looks nice so far!

ETA: I'm not doing STDs so this is just for invites. If I was doing STDs I would probably just use my regular handwriting because it's pretty decent.

I want to get them done with a calligrapher! Smiley smile I think it adds a little extra character. Since we are having an intimate wedding we will have only about 21 for each save the dates and invites. Hoping to find someone soon Smiley smile

I hand wrote mine and used a return address stamp. I was going to print on them directly on my printer at work but of course the day I was going to do it the printer broke and needed a new part ordered and I didn't feel like waiting. My hand writing isn't that nice, but whatever, the envelope goes in the garbage.

I hand-wrote the save the dates. I'm still unsure of what to do for invites but I will probably hand-write those too since my handwriting is pretty good.

I did mine through minted.com, not the cheapest invites out there but they include printing the envelopes. Saved me a bunch of time and stress.

Minted.com gave me free address printing on invitations... SO fantastic! Not the least expensive option but I loved the invite

Our std were from Minted.com and they had an envelope addressing option so we did that. I hand wrote the addys for our invites and our thank you cards. I did buy and use a preprinted return address label for each to add a little fun.

I just finished handwriting mine! It went a lot faster than I expected, and overall they came out well using thin calligraphy markers. My only problem is I sometimes write on a slant, so while these are totally acceptable, definitely not doing this again for invitations!
