I’m getting married on October 6th of this year. We decided to order bridesmaid dresses online through a bridal boutique website because the dresses are very affordable. I also allowed each of my girls to choose their own dress, as long as the colors all matched. I did this purposely so that the girls could select a dress that would fit their budget. The most expensive dress that one of my bridesmaids selected was $95. I asked each of my girls to have their dresses ordered by April 1st. Mostly because it is a mail order service, so I wanted to allow plenty of time for returns in case a dress didn’t fit properly or was damaged in the mail.

It is now mid April and half of my bridesmaids still have not ordered their dresses. I’m trying not to be pushy. I don’t want to be a bridezilla. But these girls have had their dresses picked out since February. They have had plenty of time, in my opinion, to order their dresses by now. I should add that the bridesmaids that haven’t ordered their dresses are not tight for money. These particular girls have full time jobs with great pay and no children. If I thought it was an issue of affordability, I would totally have more sympathy and offer to help. They choose not to order their dresses for my wedding, but announce how they just got a wonderful mani and pedi 🙄

The disclaimer on the website states to allow roughly 2 months for processing and shipment. I’m worried that if the dresses aren’t ordered soon, we will be cutting it really close. Especially if a return needs to be made.

What should I do? Am I being ridiculous?

All of my BM's ordered there dresses online and all were in their hands in 4 weeks or less. You have time!! Here is he thing, you will never be able to control other adults so stop trying!! Give them the information they need, remind them about 3 months out and then let it go. They can handle this on their own and if they drag their feet and miss the deadline, they can attend your wedding as a guest. You will have enough to stress over, its not worth stressing over this.

I would send a group text and say something like you've called the dress company and they say two months minimum for delivery, which would be June/July if they ordered this week or next. Then if anything is wrong, plan for another month. So July/August. The latest I would order is May. But I think sending out a group text with the names of the girls who haven't ordered is more direct. They agreed to be your bridesmaids and shouldn't be adding stress.

Yea I’d back off. You have a long time to wait. But not everyone is concerned with your wedding as you are. Their life doesn’t revolve around it like yours does. Breathe. Also, I can’t believe how someone would demote their bridesmaid because she couldn’t or didn’t get the dress. Like my friends are more important to me than a stupid dress.

I am having the same issue. It is January 29th I've asked my girls to have the dress ordered by January 31st. four girls out of 10 have not ordered their dresses yet. I know it's just procrastination. To me It's not about time they still have time. it's about doing what I asked you to do. If you can't do that what other problems am I going to have with you. I'm just saying!

You're not being ridiculous. Sit them down and have a one on one with them. If they know how stressed this is making you I'm sure they will take care of it then and there.
