Haitian Food Caterer in DC, MD, VA area?

Lol!!!! I thought you were referring to them catering at a DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) I was getting ready to say wth!!!

I was not able to find any Haitian restaurants in the area but I noticed the Embassy offers an instructional course. Maybe you could email them and see who is teaching the course and see if they have any leads?

I'm certainly not an expert on Caribbean food, and I know there's lots of differences between many specific types/cultural influences. But there is a really good spot in College Park, MD called Unforgettable Flavors and they cater. The Chef is Jamaican, but I would think they could probably customize for more Haitian influence, or maybe he could recommend someone he knows. It's worth a try!

Don't be scared away by the location, they're in the bottom of tower in a big apartment complex, and it looks kind of sketchy lol but they're super nice and have great food.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try checking with the embassy. Jamaican and Haitian food are really different so I'm not sure my Haitian FH would want a Jamaican chef cooking Haitian food. lol.

We met with Caribbean Caterers and the person was 45 minutes late to our appointment. and their initial quote for 120 was overpriced. My FH doesn't want to of with them.

Somewhere in MD will be your best bet. Try joining Haitian FB groups or concerts and asking around there. I met a lady at a Haitian concert and she catered out of her home. I've lost her info. Haiti is sorely underrepresented in the DMV. Good luck! If you're desperate, you can find people in Philly and NYC who may be willing to travel.

@Jessica, Um DMV doesn't stand for Delmarva, Delmarva is its own abbreviation. DMV stands for DC, MD and VA.
