Linds
Master March 2017

hairstyle with fingertip/elbow length veil

Linds, on January 8, 2017 at 10:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I made my trial appointment for hair and makeup - and she requested I bring in inspiration pictures - I don't have a whole lot of ideas besides "it needs to all be up" since my hair doesn't hold curl or look very nice after about 5 minutes of being down.

I'm thinking I'd like to be able to wear my veil all night, however I am also considering a hair clip or something so if I do decide to take it off I can still have a nice looking hairdo.

What are your inspiration pictures (or real pictures) with veils?

I'm attaching my dress in the comments and am very open to suggestions - thanks!

I love your dress! I always love veils that are tucked under, like in the pic. A simple bun could easily hold this style! And then it wouldn't be in your way if you wanted to wear it all night.

I had a cathedral-length veil with a blusher. I wore my hair up with a hair comb, since my veil was long I definitely was not going to leave it on for the reception. Check out pinterest for some inspiration pics!

You also have to consider how you want your veil to fall... if you want your veil to fall over your shoulders then place it above your hairstyle, if you want to fall behind you then under your hairstyle is a great option and looks super cute (:

@Cassie - I didn't even realize the placement mattered how it fell! I know that sounds obvious - but it didn't even cross my mind!

I'm not sure if this is the greatest pic! It's the only one with my veil on my phone! For some reason ww is not working on my computer! I personally am not a fan of the veil being seen on top of your head from the front. That is the reason for my low placement. From the front you can see my veil cascading around my shoulders.

I don't love when the veil comes out completely from the bottom of the of the hair, but I also don't want it to be so high up it looks like the 90s want their veil back either. There are just so many choices to make! Every little detail seems to be on my brain today!

Linds- when you go to try on veils put your hair in a clip, not a ponytail holder. Then you can adjust where your hair is and where the veil sits.

I have my veil, and I'm going to have the hairstylist put it in, but she wanted my ideas on what I wanted... and I guess I know what I don't want, but no real idea on what I do want.

You can still place it above a low updo without it being on the top of your head. That's what I plan on doing. Unfortunately I don't have any photos yet but it is possible.
