Hair Extensions for Wedding day??

Pang, on September 28, 2016 at 8:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 21

So my SIL and my friend (SIL's youngest sister) keep telling me that if I want my hair down for my wedding day.. that I should get extensions and if I plan to get a good set then it's around a good $200. I guess it makes me a bit insecure because I've seen women with medium short curled/wavy hair for their weddings (photos) and it looks great! But their telling me to get extensions.. I honestly don't mind my hair being the way it is.. it's length is a little past my back shoulder bones as of right now. I'm sure it'll be grown out some more by the time July comes around but.. I guess I wanna do the most reasonable and best thing. (For looks but also considering my budget) What do you all think I should do? I also should note that I know the extensions would be more for volume and not length lol. Even though I mention length a lot.

I think it depend on personal preference. I've seen gorgeous brides with their short hair and gorgeous brides with extensions.

If you like your hair the way it is, then don't spend the money on really good quality extensions, especially if you don't think you'll wear them again. You can always find a hairstylist that will work with the hair you have and make it look great without the need for extensions!

I wanted mine down & needed them for thickness because my hair is super thin. If you are comfortable with your hair now then don't worry about it. Btw the pair I got was close to $200. You get what you pay for with extensions.

If you like your hair the way it is then don't worry about it, but for me my hair grow so slow and I hate it. I've been saying to myself for years that I'm growing it out to get married and it's still just over shoulder length. Finally the day we set a date I went out and bought extensions and I'm in love. I actually wear them all the time now. It gives my self-esteem a huge boost LOL

Yeah, totally not about length. It's about giving it a fuller look without teasing it. I absolutely did extensions. 7 clip in tracks of remy hair for $140. They are awesome quality. Shop around. They took my hair from every day (which I think is good already) to like oh my god, I am so hot. I would totally recommend them.

eta: and not having them is just fine also. It just depends on if you think the extra drama in your bridal look is worth the extra cost. Rock your real hair if you love it!

The only person who needs to like your hair on your wedding day is you. If you're happy with it, don't bother with extensions.

Personal preference, 100%! The moment you're engaged people come out of the woodwork will all sorts of things you SHOULD do, but it'll just make you crazy. Think about how you want to look and feel on your wedding day, and work toward that if it's not what you already have going on. Like ten minutes after my proposal I was like... Well, better startgrowing my hair out... But now I know that's not really me, so I'm focusing on getting regular trims and getting my cut and color to a point I can maintain until the wedding, and might end up actually chopping it back off by then. If extensions sound fun to YOU, treat yourself!

It's up to you. I'm going to just because I have fine hair and I want more volume. I've worn extensions before and I like them, but not for everyday use. Look online and get 100% human hair. I got a set a few years ago for like $100

If you like your hair the way it is, why spend the extra money?!

I do not like how thin my hair is. I am having a low chignon hairstyle for the wedding, but when we did my trial it was obvious that I do not have enoigh hair to make it look good. $125 for real 18" Remy hair extensions and now my chignon will be nice and full lol

If you do decide to get extensions, buy real hair.

Don't let anybody pressure you into something you don't want to do, if you like the way your hair looks as is then I wouldn't spend that much on extensions; you money could be better used elsewhere. You would be beautiful with, or without. But don't do it just because you are feeling pressured. Personally it sounds to me like you would really rather go more natural, and if that is true I say do so Smiley smile also consider your man, if anyone. I know that Noah would hate if I got extensions just cuz they are "fake" in his words. But if your guys doesn't mind, and you want to, do it. You don't want to, don't.

I think your hair is gorgeous the way it is. It looks glamorous and I can see it that same length on any number of wedding shows. My mom curled her stick straight hair for her senior picture and has always been upset that it doesn't even look like her. Extensions would be fun, don't rule them out, but do think about what look is truly "you." And obviously volume isn't going to dramatically alter "you," but it might not feel authentic.

I love hair extensions! I dont use them as frequently as some people, but I love my hair when I added them.

My hair is super long, and Im not going to cut it until the wedding (just the tips), but is also super thin and it doesnt have volume whatsoever. So for me is a big yes to have extensions, not for the long but for the volume...
