Did any brides have anyone wear white as a guest to your wedding. I was always taught never to wear white to a wedding. I had four guests all together with white on. Including one of the men guest. At that point I could care less. It must be a 2015 thing, wear whatever you want. Did this happen to...

Did this happen to anyone????? Or how would you feel brides to be

I don't mind like white pants, or a white top. Or a white dress with a colorful pattern. But I think its rude to show up in all white.

It really don't bother me. No one will ever out shine or even come close to getting the attention that the bride and groom. I am thinking it's a regional thing because where I'm from it doesn't matter what color you wear. Everyone is there for the bride and groom.

I'd never wear white to someone else's wedding I think it's the brides color (unless I was a bridesmaid and the bride wanted white) so I'd be annoyed. Not ruin my day annoyed, but still annoyed. It's like, this ONE day you don't wear white. Is it so hard?

Last year I saw two girls wearing white at a wedding, though their dresses were clearly beach dresses, so they didn't look remotely like the bride. Plus there were many men wearing golf shorts or cargo shorts, and one woman in yoga pants, so I guess there was an "anything goes" thing going on.

I don't think it's appropriate to wear all white or all ivory. I wouldn't do it as a guest. Now if a guest wore all white or ivory to my wedding I might think they were a little rude or clueless but I don't think I'd be annoyed--maybe just feel sorry for them. My FMIL is another story Smiley smile She hasn't bought a dress yet but thinks she wants to wear white. My FH is going to talk to her about it when she and his dad return from vacation! Even if she does end up wearing it I think I could accept it, but I still think it's disrespectful of the bride and I'm afraid other people will think she is being disrespectful too.

It didnt bother me, but I did notice while we was on the dance floor. I was having a wonderful day that I didnt care. I was just taking the day, and enjoying my guests. When the actually day came, everything I thought I would care about was out the door.

I've been a guest and seen it happen, (white/ivory LACE dress!!) and while the bride was like ummm okay.... it wasn't a focal point of their day. As a guest though, I was totally shocked and appalled. Guests were definitely giving her dirty looks! As others have said, white shirt, white pants, okay...but a white dress?!

    No. Just no.

Melissa, that was not "with good reason". It was passive aggressive and you did it specifically to piss off the bride. Super bitchy of you.

In general, I have seen quite a bit of white at weddings, but not long gowns that look bridal. Usually in the form of a sun dress or flowy pant suit which I think is fine. If it is a long white gown or looks bridal, then no.

VC, yoga pants? It sounds like it was a casual wedding, but no wedding is that casual!

Lizzyshan the guests had all white dresses on, and one of the men had an all white suite or tux on.

Emily all the white dresses were like sun dresses. Nothing to dressy, but cute for a wedding.

Yep, one girl wore a short white dress. I didn't even notice until one of my bridesmaids pointed it out. Didn't bother me

The way my personality is set up I would probably say "So you just going to come in here with a white dress on?'' In a nice way, but they would feel like an ass. Mission accomplished.

MrsPope I doubt it. Once its all said and done you probably are not going to care. The week of the wedding is so stressful, and the day of you are going be happy its over and that all your plans came together. I didnt notice until the end. I was so consume with just enjoying each moment I didnt even care. Now before the wedding I did.

I probably won't notice or care as long as it isn't immediate family. I want to be the focal point in all of our family photos lol not that my bridal getup doesn't scream "look at me!"

I went to a wedding reception last week with my sister, mom, and FH. They had a private ceremony on Thursday and reception on Saturday.

FH and I walk into my mom's and sister's house and I flipped. They were both wearing jeans. My mom was wearing a white t shirt and my sister was wearing white jeans. This reception was at the church hall, not a backyard. I made them change.

At the reception there were 2 women wearing white dresses. At one point I did mistake one them for the bride from behind. The bride wore her wedding dress for the first half and changed into a simple casual white dress to dance in.

Thats the only thing when the bride changes into something cooler than I can see the problem. Espiecally if people mistaken a guest for the bride

When Beyoncé's sister, Solange, got married last year EVERYBODY wore white.
