So I have a lot of guests who have been asking me ifnthey can bring 2 or 3 extra guests to the wedding. Our venue has a limited amount of space for guests and I am trying to figure out a way to politely tell them that I would prefer if they only bring one guest. Has anyone else dealt with this? If...

If so how did you handle it and how did the people respond?

Karen, if you are close enough to them that you are inviting them to your wedding you'd probably know they are in a polygamous relationship and address the invite to each by name

In this instance they are requesting to bring additional random friends, not SOs

My answer would be NO. Exactly like that too. "NO."

...but I've also reached the point where I have absolutely zero fucks left to give and don't really care who I offend sooo maybe follow the advice of pp's lol but in my opinion, if you're rude enough to ask me to bring, not even just ONE extra guest but 2 or 3, then you deserve a rude response right back. Not even sorry.

This is crazy to me. People have some nerve. I am not looking forward to RSVPs! Good luck!

Ew, it's never okay for guests to bring friends you don't even know. Plus 1's are for SOs.

Definitely not. IF you get a plus one, it is ONE. This is your event, not theirs. How rude!

@karenk I think you mean polyamorous. Polygamy is being married to more than one person which is illegal.

None of the people I invited are in polygamous relationships. The people they invited and are wantingnto invite are their friends, not lovers, or significant others or even their relatives I did go as far as to ask who they are wanting to bring so I know for a fact that the people they want to being are their friends. Which when it is their wedd8ngnthey are more than welcome to invite.
