Guest entertainment... before the ceremony?

Just a thought... what do guests do between arriving to the venue and the start of the ceremony? I know most couples leave their guestbook out for guests to sign as they arrive, which is a nice time filler before the ceremony, but our guestbook won't be out until later in the evening, as we're...

I know most couples leave their guestbook out for guests to sign as they arrive, which is a nice time filler before the ceremony, but our guestbook won't be out until later in the evening, as we're incorporating photo strips from the Photo Booth into the actual guestbook.

So... should we be planning some sort of activity or something for our guests before the ceremony? I wouldn't stress too much, but we both have many family members and friends who are always notoriously late for everything, so we're allowing a 45 minute window for guests to be arriving before the ceremony... so I just feel bad for the guests that will actually be arriving on time, but now have to wait 45 minutes for the main event.

Thoughts? Thanks! Smiley smile

People generally talk, greet each other, roam around, look at the decorations, take pictures of each other, play on their phones if they get that bored. I wouldn't worry about this, with all of the other stuff you're having to plan and organize. I would try to start whatever music you're having around the time you expect people to show up.

I'm so glad someone understands that people who are chronically late, are always late, regardless of the event lol I wouldn't be so stressed, but the future-in-laws are so unpredictable. They are always horribly late to everything, but then at our engagement party that was hosted at my parents home, they showed up 40 minutes early! So I just don't know what will happen on our actual wedding day. so hoping that having the venue open early will alleviate that stress for me... and will be nice for anyone else arriving a little early Smiley smile
