Groomsmen Tux Rental Amount

Elizabeth, on April 28, 2016 at 11:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

My FH and I just got home from building the tuxs, etc. and getting everything set up for the groomsmen at Men's Wearhouse. That being said, how much was each rental for your groomsmen? I'm trying to figure out if what we got was too much or not... Why is this so stressful????

Also- I tried searching for past discussions on this and only found one from 2012. I'm assuming prices have changed since then lol

So we tried the same thing you did and it was close to $350 a guy and it didn't include shoes. We ended up buying summer suits at jos a bank for $150 a piece plus the shirt at $15. And they get to keep them. Win win!

We will be paying roughly $200 per Tux rental (including shoes) through The tuxedo gallery in SR California.

I found Mens Wearhouse to be more expensive and we were disappointed with their vest selection. We ended up with these suits at Tuxedo Junction for $146.50, including shoes, vest, tie, socks, and pocket square.

Ugh. I wish Tuxedo Junction was located in Indiana. I just checked it out. We have to have one located in a lot of different states because the groomsmen are from different spots in Indiana and in Denver, which is why we went with Men's Wearhouse. FH and the groomsmen will look wonderful, but I'm wondering where we can cut on the tuxes to make it more affordable.

We only have two guys (Man of Honor and Best Man), but we're trying the Menguin route. Ended up $201 a person, including shoes but not including shirts. $12 more to rent a shirt too - which we may end up doing if we can't get their measurements in time to have bespoke shirts made for them. They don't have to go anywhere and when they're done, they just shove everything (except red pocket square and socks) in the box and drop it off at UPS (and I was able to pay for both of them over the phone).

Soon2bMrsV - Small world, I live in SR! We wound up going with Men's Wearhouse because he's had to rent tuxes from several places for weddings it's the only place in the area that a rented tux has actually fit correctly! We didn't check out the tuxedo gallery though.

OP - I believe the groomsmen are paying $230? FH was told his tux would be free but he didn't feel right about that so he paid the cost of a rental and split it up among the guys.

SoonToBeMrsP- THAT is an idea! That's what FH will get too (the free rental). He wondered earlier if he got a credit or something bc he wanted to help the GMs out... Does anyone know how much taking off the shoes would be? As in how much money would it save them? The shoes would look amazing but at the same time, it's a way we could cut.

When I went into men's warehouse for pricing, they told me the shoes would drop 20 off the price. They quoted me between 140 and 160 before dropping the shoes. All our guys have black dress shoes. This is in charlotte, nc.

We are doing this tux at MW for $169,including shoes and a pocket square. I got a ton of coupons for $40 off each rental plus grooms tux free. Because we are renting so many (10),FH actually gets to choose between a free rental or a voucher for a retail suit up to $600. They kept calling the coupon a "bridal show discount" but I swear I also got coupons in the mail after getting engaged and in my e-mail. try signing up on their site, they might send coupons. We were very happy with MW.

MW is having a sale right now...there's a coupon for $40 off everyone in the wedding party that expires May 11th! We used that and our suits were about $174 for FH to wear Vera Wang and the GM to wear Joseph Abboud (we threw in an extra shirt but didn't get shoes because that would've tipped the cost to over $200). FH also bought his GM ties separately but that's b/c he didn't like the ones at MW hah!

We used theblacktux.com and each tux rental was about $180. They had other options as well. It was awesome and they had great customer service. Each guy got their tux a week before and then they just had to drop it off at a FedEx on the next business day. My groom also had an issue with his pants not fitting right and they over night shipped another pair to him and it was perfect.

Ours was 170 from Louie's Tux Shop. Also don't restrict yourself to Mens Wearhouse just because you have guys all over the country. I know for ours they could get measured at any tux shop and call Louie's with there measurements. If they didn't need shoes then the price was 150. I liked louie's because there wearhouse is in South Bend IN (where I live) so if a guy had any slight measurement change and something didn't fit absolutely perfectly they could have him a brad new tux within 24 hours! Also you might want to check but they where offering free invitations if you used them for your wedding.
