Groomsmen drops out last minute

Kristian, on October 12, 2022 at 8:01 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 7
I feel so bad for my fiancé. One groomsmen backed out a month before the wedding due to money issues, we offered to pay for his expenses but left my fiance on read, so nothing can be done for that. Another one just backed out 4 days before the wedding because he didn't realize he booked the flight the day of the wedding and after it would have started and would need to fly back before 11pm that same night. HUH??? That made 0 sense to me but whatever. I just feel so terrible for my fiance who's extremely upset right now. Our bridal party is off balance since I'll be having 5 bridesmaids including MOH and he'll only be having 3. Didn't think these would happen especially of how close my fiance believed he was with his friends.

I'm sorry 2 of the groomsmen can't be there anymore. That really sucks. And kinda weird how the one booked his flight?? Doesn't make sense. But being off balance isn't bad! It seems to be pretty common now. I've been to two wedding where the sides had different number. My wedding is going to be the same. I'll have 8 and he'll have 5. You can have the groomsmen walk with 2 girls or just double up your girls!

Yeah I was thinking of doing that! Put two bridesmaids together and then partner up the rest. I just feel bad for my fiance.

I feel bad for your future husband. It stinks that those closest to him are backing out. But, don't stress about it being "off balance". That is perfectly normal these days. No big deal at all.

I feel bad for your FH for sure. Sides don't have to be even, it's actually less likely at wedding for that to happen anyway. One idea for the recessional is to "weave" your wedding party by one BM, one GM, one BM etc instead of pairing people up to walk out.

Aw man I know the feeling, 1 bridesmaid dropped out 2 months before my wedding, asked another friend to step in and they did! A few days ago they tell me they’re not sure if they can make it so I’m just accepting the fact that it probably won’t be even and just letting it go. Nothing else to do on such short notice no time to tell someone else

I'm sorry that had happened to your FH and I hope that he can find 2 ppl before your wedding. But I clearly understand what you are saying because it happened to us as well. His first bestman had pulled out do to a family tragedy so we understand that he wouldn't be up for the job.So now he has a replacement bestman lucky that the gifts we had gotten was still going ok to give the name isn't engraved. But also my two sons didn't get there attire and crying about they don't have any money and they had 2years to prepare. 1 son wants to wear his black suit that was supposed to be for his wedding that didnt happened. But our colors are not black and purple its Grey and Yellow and the other 1 wants to once to look like my FH and we explained to him that he can't wear what he has and buy the outfit for him. So he is down 2 groomsmen as well. But I will not let him feel bad at that's there lost we will make sure our FH will enjoy there wedding day no matter. I wish you both the best
