Groomsman suit - help me!

Ok so FH is a big guy so we had to go with DXL for his suit for the wedding. Yes there were other options, but he is most comfortable with DXL so that’s what we did. Our plan was to do his best man’s attire (his 17 year old son) also from DXL. We planned to do the slacks and vest for him versus jacket. However, I didn’t like the way the vest alone looked on him so we are going jacket and slacks. Son isn’t really big and tall though so the pants and jackets were too long. We do have the option of alterations to tailor the jacket and shortening it and of course hemming the pants, but we thought the cost would not make much sense to do that.
We are now trying to find a suit to coordinate with FH’s suit somewhere else and are not having much luck. FH’s is a charcoal suit with a texture. My initial thought was to go lighter with Best man’s suit but I’m just not loving that look either. I honestly don’t know what to do. Any suggestions? Someone please help me figure out what to do!
A little info about our wedding... only the one groomsman, one bridesmaid, one jr bridesmaid; small, intimate, rustic wedding in the mountains. Guest list is about 38.
