If I were wearing a tux, I'd probably go with a patent leather pump, but I'm planning on wearing a frock coat (see photo). Should I still go with the same shoe? Perhaps a calfskin boot?

Polished ankle boots with the frock coat. They were and are properly worn with high or low boots, not a shoe. Love a man in a frock coat. Especially at the moment when the fad is shorter and tighter jackets of suits, the PeeWee Herman look.
