Groom's Requests

Mine didn’t have anything firm, but he told me he wanted to eat dinner alone the two of us (which at first I thought was nuts, but I’m so glad we’re doing it for alone time). He also reminded me he’s not one for spotlight so to limit that stuff (I reminded him we’re both getting married that day and people will look at him too 😂). He had some opinions on songs but nothing serious. He let me plan the whole thing pretty much....and I love him for that.

Mine just wanted to make sure we had a full open bar the whole night. And that we “do it” on our wedding night 🤦🏼‍♀️

My fiance and I honestly made almost every wedding-related decision together (except for things like who we were each picking to be in our wedding party, me picking out my dress, etc). Neither of us really had any requests or "must have's" that the other person didn't also want - we each would suggest a few ideas, we'd talk about them, and then decide together what we wanted to do. We picked our colors together, picked our venue and vendors together, decided on decorations together, etc. I suppose the one thing that he requested/was completely set on was the first look - he was on board as soon as our photographer suggested it, and it took me a little bit to think about it, but I eventually agreed to do a first look (and am now super excited about it!).

Mine requested funfetti for our wedding cake which I’m perfectly fine with and that he absolutely did not want to see me before the ceremony. I also didn’t think he would want to read our letters out loud in our wedding video but when our videographer asked us if that something we wanted to do I was prepared to say no but he said yes so that was a surprise too and I’m glad we’re doing it

Probably FH's hard requests were related to music. He loves music, but is not necessarily up to date on pop stuff, so I thought I'd go ahead and draft a playlist of songs that are great hits at weddings. He took a look and was like "there's too much Bon Jovi on this" and it was like one or two songs lol. We live in NJ and we looooove our Bon Jovi here He also won't allow any ABBA, so no Dancing Queen for me.

Mine wanted the whole shebang, big wedding, lots of people, decor, dj, the works. I wanted none of that lol but I planned a big elaborate wedding regardless because that's what he wanted .... granted he did NONE of the planning, but I guess that's okay, I'm hoping it will all be beautiful and the way he imagined when it's all said and done!

My husband was dead set on having a boba bar and Hennessy. he said i got to choose everything else so those were the only things he absolutely had to have

Yes, more than two, though!

The venue was his idea and pretty much his decision. He absolutely wanted Tiffany Blue in our color scheme because he wanted to use a tie I bought him for Tiffany's. We also won't budget on an open area and a Prime Rib carving station. Everything is pretty much my decision (while I do ask him for his opinion on all the other decisions).

Mine really only wanted a "fun" colored tuxedo and gin & tonics.

Mine wanted gold envelopes. Gold wasn’t one of our colors so I said no and thought he was joking. He was super upset about not having gold envelopes, oops 🤷‍♀️ He also wanted strawberry shortcake as a cake flavor, but my baker could do it as a layer so he got a small cake.
Other than that he said he wanted to drink beer, eat good food, and go home with his wife at the end of the night. He didn’t ask for too much

Mine really wanted to get married outside (So we found a venue that had a garden for the ceremony and an inside ballroom for reception) and he wanted one of our tables to be Nightmare Before Christmas theme. We're having a Disney wedding and each table is a different Disney movie. Well, I started to point out that NBC isn't a true Disney movie. He went to my necklace holder and pulled out this locket I have that says "Simply Meant to Be" and on the inside, Jake and Sally are there. He turned it over and said, "Whose name is after the copyright symbol." (Disney) I rolled my eyes, laughed, and agreed on the table. Which btw I didn't mind having in the first place lol.

The only request FH had was his and his groomsmen's attire. Other than that, he doesn't really care about anything. Typical lol.

My husband wanted a baseball and hockey jersey for our guestbooks. He also wanted escort cards that looked like tickets to a game. We both wanted red and black as our wedding colors since they are the colors of his favorite hockey team and I always wanted red roses at my wedding.

I think both of the things he asked for are reasonable requests.

His one and only request was that our ceremony includes “God” and a prayer. - we’re both Catholic and his annulment didn’t get finalized in time so we are having an officiant perform our ceremony.
And once his annulment is finalized we’ll have another very private ceremony in a church
