When should groom and grooms men going get measured for a suit/tux when renting ?

We started looking at stores & online companies around 6 months out. We decided 2 months out and told the groomsmen so they had 1 month to order (it was online).

My husband and I went in December to look at decide on tuxes and some of the guys went took in January to get measured. My husband wanted to go when his brother was in town and his brother was in town for New Year's that's why went then. Our wedding was in July.

FH and the groomsmen are getting their suits from TheBlackTux.com
FH got fitted in-store two weeks ago (about 2 months before the wedding) and the groomsmen will be doing the same soon.

We picked out rental tuxes online a while back, but Men's Warehouse suggests starting the process 4 months out for weddings so that's when we'll handle that.
