My FH and I are both of Scottish decent. We are working on booking a bagpiper for the ceremony. Yesterday he asked if I would rather have him wear a kilt or tux. I and completely undecided. I like the classic look of the tux, but I also like the uniqueness of the kilt. What are your thoughts on...

There is such a thing as a "kilt suit". You're not going to find one at Men's Wearhouse to rent, but its pretty much a dress kilt and a shorter-than-average jacket. My FH and I are also of Scottish descent and he is already planning to have himself and the groomsmen in kilts. The biggest decision was deciding on the appropriate tartan (decided to go plain old dress black because then his family tartan's colors didn't clash with my blue wedding colors ;3)

My husband and his groomsmen (and our bag piper) were all in kilts. The GM's actually said they were way more comfortable than when in a tux. We used the tartan colours as our wedding colours. One thing to keep in mind:

    1. Kilt rentals could be more expensive than tuxes

    2. My husband bought his kilt because his family colours weren't available for rent. His whole outfit cost $2000, but he now wears it to other formal events etc and we have tons of fun going out. He also had a fly plaid.

If it's up for voting though, I vote kilt!

Also, even the skeptics thought all of the guys looked great and formal.
