My FH and I are both old-fashioned and traditional. We do historical recreation dancing and go to the Dickens Fair for fun. I almost had a Victorian-themed wedding, but I didn't want to put the rest of the wedding party through the stress of dressing for the period.
That said, we're retaining period elements without making the wedding themed. Would it be completely bizarre for FH to wear a modern tailcoat? Conductors and soloists with orchestra still wear them! (We're both classical musicians.) Then again, the wedding is 11 AM on a Saturday.
What do men normally wear? What makes a tuxedo different from a suit aside from the stripe down the side of the pants? Do any non-musicians wear tailcoats?
