Hello WW, my FH wants to wear a white tux.... is on june 10, 2018, outside ceremony @1pm and inside reception from 2-6.. his best man is wearing a black one and there no groomsmen, there are about 3 bridesmaids and of course the maid of honor,, im thinking of hot pink for thei dress color and have the theme of the wedding be with hot pink, light pink and white... based on this, what's your opinion on both groom and bride wearing white?? FH really wants to and its the only thing hes asked for, but idk what the outcome of that would be lol

It can look very classy if done appropriately and your wedding is the perfect time of day to accommodate white on white, but I would agree with PP to steer away from tuxedos for the groom and the BM and stick with nice suite or sports coats since it is an afternoon wedding!

I personally don’t love the all-white tux look, but if your FH really wants it and you don’t have a problem with it, then go for it! Traditionally so much of these wedding traditions are for the bride, and the groom doesn’t get as much say, so if this is one thing he cares a lot about, why not let him have it? (This is why we are probably doing a garter toss despite my preference to skip it altogether. Let the guys step up!)

You all are awesome!!! He doesnt have a problem doing a suit, which i think it would look much nicer... as for my dress, i will have a white dress so i will have to make sure its the same white since it dont want it to be different whites color, i think it will look odd and weird lol... ill have him go try the white suit and see what he thinks about it.... i dont think he minds whether its a tux or a suite as long as its all white so well go with suit for suree!! Thanks everyone!!

Personally, not a fan of that look. If his suit is white and your dress is ivory or champagne, your dress could look dingy.

My FH will be wearing white as well. I don’t have an issue with it.

I don't like it. It's never going to match your dress perfectly so it'll clash. And all I can think of is my parents wedding pics from 1979 and my dad in a white tux.

My dad wore a white tux in my parents wedding in 1990, tail and all. I think certain aspects of the white are coming back, like a white sports coat and black pants but an all white tux seems way too formal for your time of day and location.

A full white tux is not really in style today. He can, however, wear a white dinner jacket with black pants, which would look great, and would coordinate much better with his best man. A friend of ours wore that to his wedding, and he looked pimp.

Agreed! A friend of ours did the same (white dinner jacket, black pants) and looked amazing!

I think an all-white tux will look dated (and inappropriate for a daytime wedding).

If it's something he really wants, I'd just let him go for it. My FH really wanted a tux even though our event is nowhere near that formal and I just decided to let him be in charge of what he wears and not stress about it. Smiley smile

When i was young, like early high school, a friend of my SIL got married and my family and i helped do her cake, bridesmaid dresses, and music for the reception. her groom wore an all white tux to their daytime, backyard wedding.... and while he wore exactly what he wanted and had all the rights to do so, it looked soooooooooo weird. lol.

maybe see if you can convince him to wear a white dinner jacket? someone else recommended this to you as well. maybe then he can get the white look hes going for but not wear a tux... thats all white... outside... in the summer... lol or see if you could find a white suit? i feel like a whole white tux is just too much...

I see ivory or white often on grooms...no problem this way i've seen it many times. We may even be leading to the ivory ourselves. FH doesnt know what he wants to wear yet.
