Groom in all white tux??

My dad did this in the 80's. I say do what you want

Would he compromise with a white dinner jacket? Tuxedos are formal wear, not meant for outside events or afternoon.

I think it's fine My FH is wearing white on the top and black on the bottom because he wanted to wear a similar outfit to what his dad wore when he married FH's mom.

Is your dress actually white? Not off-white or ivory?

I saw a wedding recently where the bride wore white, and her husband had his Navy formal uniform which were off-white and I thought it looked odd.

Honestly it takes a certain type of suit and man to pull off an all white suit. I think most times they come off as cheap looking. I do think the white jacket with black pants look very nice. But it's up to him, as long as he is comfortable and happy, that's all that matters.

Eh, an all white tux looks very 80's to me. My dad did it when my parents got married in the 80's (had the tail and everything). I personally think some of pp's suggestions would look better, but it's ultimately up to you and your FH.

Not everyone can pull off ivory/white suits. I would definitely go with him to a fitting first to make sure it works with his skin tone and style. Has he ever worn a white suit, jacket, linen or otherwise before?

My H is 50% Greek, 25% Italian and 25% Swedish and he does NOT look good in a white suit. You would think with his olive skin tone and dark hair it would be great, but it washes him out, it's SO WEIRD! (when he went to go get fitted for his custom suit he tried on a white one for ha-has... it was not good LOL)

What are your feelings on it? personally, I don't know about ALL white. but maybe have him wear a white vest and tie under a light grey suit? I think all white personally is a little too much. BUT HEY, its your day and his day and no one else matters! If its what he wants!
