Groom gift?

ShanaNicole, on February 25, 2017 at 11:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 34

What is the proper way of going about a brides/grooms gift on the morning of the wedding?

I'd like to do a gift exchange with my soon-to-be husband the morning of our wedding, and I have some ideas, but I think I am overthinking and second guessing.

Did you/do you plan on giving a gift to your SO? If so, what?

I'm giving my FH a wood and glass watch box engraved with his initials and 6 different invicta watches to choose from with a small note attached to the box.

Of course it's too early to really commit to this, but we were thinking about writing letters to each other and have one of our friends exchange them for us while we're getting ready. Preliminarily, that's what we're thinking! No real gift or anything, just a sweet, heartfelt letter before we see each other at the altar. Smiley smile

Giving my FH a wife. And we're giving each other a wedding. I think that's enough.

Laser engraving his ring with my handwriting. He knows I'm getting it engraved, but doesn't know what I'm engraving.

I bought my husband football tickets and wrote him a note. I had my MOH deliver it to him while we were getting ready.

I'm giving FH an engraved watch. His sister is going to give it to him in the morning before she comes to the salon to get ready!

We initially weren't going to but we loved the idea of exchanging letters so we're doing that.

We were thinking about gifts and a letter but now we're considering just doing a letter. Knowing our luck, we would forget the gift at home or something. However, if we do gifts for each other, we'll probably exchange them the night before while we're both at home so we have them for the next morning when we're getting ready separately.

We are writing each other love letters to be read the morning of the wedding. We're throwing a big ass party, he bought me a gorgeous ring, I didn't feel the need for more trinkets to mark the occasion.

We're exchanging short letters and I bought him an engraved watch. It's also our anniversary so I wanted to do something but nothing too big because he's already getting a wife Smiley winking

We aren't doing gifts. We think that's unnecessary extra, our gifts are our bands, wedding, and marriage.

We aren't really gift people either though.

Doing gifts is just another unnecessary, frivolous expense, isn't a multi thousand dollar wedding enough? WHEN WILL IT END!? Haha

DH and I exchanged gifts. I had my MOH bring it to his room and he had the Best Man bring it to our room in the hotel where we were getting ready! We exchanged cards and gifts. He gave me a pair of diamond earrings and I gave him a leather watch box with his initials engraved in the top.

I got him personalized cuff links. One has a map of his hometown and the other is one of mine. They were only 20 dollars so I'm not too concerned. Then we have cards where we will write a message to each other.
