I am! My husband and I have been legally married almost 38 years, we have a house, 1 son and 2 grandchildren. And in June, at our 38th anniversary, we are having a wedding! I am Roman Catholic but was divorced when we got married. Because I had not at that time had my 1st marriage annulled by the Catholic Church, I could not have a Catholic wedding ceremony. We did have a small, but very nice church wedding, but in a Protestant church. Annulments used to be lengthy, complicated and expensive but that changed and I was recently granted an annulment. I am a devout Catholic so now we must have a "convalidation" so my marriage can be recognized by the Church. And I am very excited!! Hubby is not Catholic but he is happy about this and being gracious about going through the ceremony as long as we keep it low key, which I think we are. The simple ceremony will be performed by the pastor at my church, during a regular Sunday Mass. The choir of which I am a member, is also excited - they will be singing anyway and I've asked the choir/music director/organist (who is also my Best Friend and Matron of Honor) to sing, and to add a favorite Psalm to the choir program. She is also very excited (she was extremely helpful in my getting the annulment). She has bought a beautiful new outfit, gave me a bridal shower, and planned "bachelorette" evenings for the 2 of us! Our son will be Best Man, and his 2 kids, boy 12, girl 9, will be included as well. My MOH's hubby will do the photography. And they are hosting a wedding dinner at a favorite elegant restaurant - just the 8 of us including the priest. I will wear an ivory lace dress ensemble and a matching bow and tiny veil headpiece. Hubby has a new black suit he'll wear with a white shirt and paisley silk tie. Our son will wear a new suit also and I bought outfits for the kids. I will carry a small bouquet, there will be a tiered wedding cake, and I've even bought favors to give the priest, our son and my MOH and hubby. We are even planning the honeymoon we never got to have! So yes, we are all very excited!! Despite the fact that we are at least 40 years older than most of the brides here!!
