Grand Exit? Yes or no?

Brooke, on October 19, 2016 at 9:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

Anyone not doing a grand exit? I was thinking of skipping this because it will be very dark and we are staying to help pack up. Also we are getting married in a national park and cannot have open flames.

No we are not. Photographer does leaving a half hour early from the reception so it would not be captured anyway. We are also staying back and helping to pack up

We aren't. I don't really see the purpose of it

I always vote no on these.

They are awkward for your guests because they are totally posed and not candid at all. I don't like them.

We are doing one. I don't care what people say, I think they're fun! I was going to do sparklers but too many problems with that so I'm thinking of doing glow sticks. I've seen some pictures of it on Pinterest and it looks pretty cool, and it's different.

No grand exit for me. We're staying until the end to clean up. Plus the photographer will be leaving earlier so it's not necessary. Our exit that will be photographed is our walk down the aisle after the ceremony. Guests will blow bubbles and I'll get my 'exit' shot.

I have never been to a wedding where people actually do this.

If you are staying to pack up, then you wouldn't really be exiting, right? Because you would have to come right back to pack up? If that's right, I definitely vote no.

I am not doing it. I will probably stay to help get things situated and packed up. I don't see the purpose especially at night, we aren't riding off into the sunset. LOL

I can't get enough of the sparkler exits. So pretty.

No we aren't. We're having an outdoor reception at my parents' house, so we plan on just letting the night go on until everyone leaves.

We aren't doing one. One, it will be after 11 pm when we leave, the venue does not allow sparklers, so wouldn't be any point in doing it. Plus, it wouldn't be photographed since our photographer is leaving an hr early.

We are doing the 36in sparklers for our grand exit. I have my photographer for the duration and the venue coordinator to clean up. I am looking forward to have the pretty pictures I've seen with them.

We skipped it. Don't feel any pressure to do one! They can be cool though!

I haven't seen it at other weddings and we did not do it. Too much to coordinate, in my opinion.

I'm scared of fire, even sparklers, so we are skipping that. My Photog asked if I would want some other sort of staged exit, when she does them she does them in the middle of the reception.

It's a pointless photo op. No thanks.

We probably won't do one either. We aren't allowed sparklers or anything similar.

Nope. Our reception was in a hotel ballroom. Over 100 guests took advantage of the discounted, room block rate. We just took the elevator up to our complimentary suite, for an after party.

I've been to 2 weddings that had sparkler sendoffs - neither was in our geographic area. We couldn't wait to get out of there, so we could stop for some food, because guest hosting (food) was not a priority for them. For the 1st, my hair and clothes smelled of smoke and I took a shower and washed my hair, when we got back to our hotel. For the 2nd, we didn't participate. I wasn't making that mistake again.
