    I'm with the Oxford Comma movement, so I'm with 2.

    What about the "in" part?

    I'm partial to the Oxford comma. I don't like the sound of "by continuing" as it implies a suggestion or a choice of one of the three (regardless of "and"). It's also needlessly wordy. What about a simple "Please join us after the ceremony for cocktails, dinner, and dancing"?

    Does anyone else feel that Whitney clearly chose the second option simply to piss Staci off??? Anyone??

    I think SequinTableRunner's version is the best one if you're dead set on having "cocktails, dinner, and dancing" on there.

    Also, no need to get snippy with Staci. We love her and will defend her to the death. #WatchYourself

    The sentence itself is a little too long and drawn out. I agree with Staci and I would just keep it simple. No need to get snippy, we're just giving suggestions.

    "Join us in celebrating with..." Just saying.

    But seriously, if you ask one or two and someone says two, don't flip the fuck out.

    @Staci - Who could hate Kermit?! #UMDalum

    To be frank, it's all in how something is said [or in this case..typed].

    Staci could have very well said the same thing she did [as did others] in a less meme-y [read: snarky] way, and it would have been appreciated. She didn't, so I responded.

    Why everyone outside of Staci has an opinion on what Staci and I just chuckled off and "meme-d" out is beyond me.

    So, I think it's best to keep the extended banter to yourself and let it go. To Staci's point, it wasn't any of her business (correct #1) and she's not even mad (meme #2).

    Option #2, with a period at the end of the sentence.
