Grammar help!

Amy, on June 1, 2019 at 8:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
The back of our invitation says: “camping is available, and free, for those that wish to stay”. I need help with grammar. Are the commas in the correct places?

Camping is available (and free) to those who wish to stay.

The commas are good! "And free" is an interrupting phrase, so the commas separate it from the main clause. Parentheses are also an option, as Angela suggested. Parentheses just denote a further level of separation than the commas.

I would probably just say "Free camping is available for those who would like to stay."

Also a writing instructor. I don't believe that the commas are necessary in this case. I would just say "Camping is available and free for those who wish to stay."

I agreee- "free" at the beginning grabs the attentions much better.

'Free camping is available' is smoother-- and for those who wish to stay Smiley smile
