Gown Cleaning

Brittany, on April 1, 2019 at 8:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 8
I was curious if anyone used the Wedding Gown Preservation company by The Knot? Or did anyone have luck with going to a local cleaners that said they did wedding cleaning and preservation?

I used the company called Happily Ever After Gown Preservation for my gown, veil, and shoes cleaning and preservation. It is actually the same company that The Knot uses, but is a better deal if you go straight through them. They are the same price, but I got my veil and shoes cleaned and preserved for the same price and would have paid significantly more if I went through The Knot. They did a really good job. A kit was sent to my house with instructions. My mom filled it out, packed up my dress, and sent it back. I was able to put a different return address and had it shipped to me in a different state. The company sent pictures of the work as it progressed, which I really liked. My only complaint was that I could not see my shoes in the box when I received it and was nervous they weren't included. But they did a great job and I highly recommend them.

The store I got my dress does preservation and cleaning, so that's where I'll be taking it.

They actually gave me a coupon for it yesterday when I picked up my dress! Smiley smile

    Hi there Brittany!

Have you spoken to the salon where you got your dress? They may have some great recommendations or even do cleaning and preservation themselves.

The WeddingWire vendor search could be a good option for local alterations places and they could do cleaning and preservation.

    Where are you located?

I am not to that point yet but I will probably use the service offered by David's Bridal since that is where I got my dress. They will preserve it for $99.

If I had gotten my dress from there I would've considered that! I also heard of people getting them professionally cleaned before their big day, especially if it was an off the rack special!
