Any one else get rid of their wedding party because of lack of support? We had to postpone to next year but had a small ceremony this year with just our parents. So no bridal shower, no bach/ler trip (cancelled), no engagement party Nothing!! Though covid 19 happen there are so many creative things...
Any one else get rid of their wedding party because of lack of support? We had to postpone to next year but had a small ceremony this year with just our parents. So no bridal shower, no bach/ler trip (cancelled), no engagement party Nothing!! Though covid 19 happen there are so many creative things that our wedding party could have did (locally) for us and didn't. We do so much for others and thought our bridal party could have done better for us! So I sent a mass text telling them that we decided no to have one altogether! Sucks but if I have to do all the hard stuff alone then I rather stand at the alter alone with just my husband! 🤷🏽‍♀️

Its a bit of both! I have the type of friends who throw parties for anything. However I'm the first to get married, that could also be it. Either way, I think that is still sweet of them to write you letters and keep interest in your wedding! That hasn't been the case for me!

I personally wouldn’t expect anything especially during a pandemic. Our bachelor/bachelorette weekend in AC was cancelled because of the pandemic and we all decided not to reschedule it because of Covid.

My fiancé and I are having a minimony this year and our bigger wedding is next year. My bridal party still plans on hosting “bridal events” before the big wedding since Covid messed everything up.
But since you kicked them out, I’m not sure your old bridal party would do anything now. It sucks because that has to be awkward

It doesn't feel arkward because they wasn't being all that interested before covid came along anyway. One girl said she good with it because she didn't lose anything they got $50 for the dresses they paid and ask me if we were still doing lunch! 🤷🏽‍♀️ I said sure none of them seem to be bothered by it. I just feel they aren't capable of doing the duties I deem helpful during this time. So why have them be just feelers and photo props at the wedding if all there going to do is buy a dress and stand beside me...but not be supportive seems I could have hired strangers for that. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤔

I understand the supportiveness but I think that there is a misconception when it comes to the bridal party. They’re not really obligated to do anything for the bride 🤷🏾‍♀️. It’s nice if they do though.

But if you feel like they shouldn’t be in the bridal party anymore then so be it, it’s your wedding! I hope you guys have fun at lunch!
