Got our invitations, and it's kind of bittersweet

They arrived today, and while a very small part of me was excited, a much larger part is feeling kind of... bummed, I guess? We were really on the fence about enclosure cards for a while, but decided they would be the best way to give notice that we may have to postpone our wedding if things don't improve.
It's really hard to be excited about them, even though we're moving ahead with planning for the time being. We've been working on a Plan B, but the idea of having to push everything out stresses me out to no end (especially because of all the people who have rescheduled already and 2021 weddings that were planned pre-COVID).
I've had plenty of dreams about things going sideways in regard to our wedding, but nothing like this. I just can't seem to find a good way to cope, and it's making planning even harder to do.
Sorry for the blabbering--I just needed to get it off my chest, and I think my friends/family are getting kind of tired of me being anxious about the uncertainty.Got our invitations, and it's kind of bittersweet 1

It can be good to vent!
We don't have invitations yet, but we do have envelopes. I was so excited when they arrived, but now I feel so hesitant to start addressing them even though I know we'll use them at some point. It's just really hard not knowing what's going to happen, and if your friends/family are like mine, they might not be sick of hearing about your anxiety, but their responses are probably making it worse, so this might be a better outlet for it.

My invitations came today! I started addressing some of them. It was really depressing, because I wasn't excited at all. It was just something I was "doing". And I know a lot of my friends will probably think I'm crazy or even be angry that I'm sending them out. (I know... if they really do get angry, then maybe they're not good friends..). I really have no choice though. I'm getting married in August, and my venue won't let me know if I need to postpone till July. It's either I get the invitations out now and include the insert with our "soft date", or wait till July, realize the wedding is still on, and rush to get the invitations out. I just never thought I wouldn't be excited to send them out. I'm just sad and worried about the backlash I will get.

Vent away!! You are not alone in your feelings Samantha! This is an emotional roller-coaster for so many couples right now. Smiley heart You're taking all the right steps and I think your note is perfect, but I get that it's still a bummer.

You should definitely check out this discussion where a lot of brides have been sharing how they're feeling and coping:
