Got our first RSVP...with NO name!!!! ?????! HUH...

Jennifer, on May 3, 2012 at 8:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Hey ladies, new to posting... Smiley smile

Anyways, I was so excited to open our very first RSVP, only to find it blank. The only writing was a check mark saying they can't make it. No name is filled in on the top line, and no return address is written on the envelope...my only clue is the post mark. So now I have to call everyone who lives in that area and ask if it's them.

I'm really getting worried that once I get more returns I'm going to be very stressed out. Is this normal for people to send back empty returns? Now I really wish I had written the names on each RSVP myself. AHHH!!

We numbered each rsvp as we addressed them, kept a record so we would know ifthat happened we would know who it was.

We got a few like this. I just wrote a small # in pencil on the back so I could match them up to my guest list which had the corresponding #.

I'm sorry. That sounds like a headache :-/ It has been suggested on the boards to number rsvps in conjunction with a numbered list- apparently people not writing in their names is a common occurance in the rsvp world.

That is so frustrating!! Maybe you could wait a little bit to get more back before you call everyone in the area - maybe you'll hear back from everyone else or most people in the area and will only have to call a few people!

I even numbered the invitations in case we got one returned to us, but didn't even think about numbering the rsvp's! Great idea. Wish I had done it now.

Yeah, I think I'll give it some time and hopefully figure it out. Now let's just hope not many people return it this way.

    Thanks ladies!

Ugh. I'm afraid I may be in your situation. I totally intending on either numbering them or writing in names, but was overly excited by a BM's and my grandma's help, that I failed to do both.

So bummed that I did not number the RSVP cards before we sealed the invites or write the names of guests on cards. I'm sure i will have some like this as well, what a mess to deal with.

That sucks!! Hopefully you won't get too many that way. After reading the horror stories in the boards I numbered mine as well. We have a few jokesters or young people that may not know what the M is for (already had some text and ask) or may write something funny on it.

Horray for that first RSPV. It sucks when you don't know who it was. Good thing its someone who can't make it. you got alot of time to worry about who it comes from. How many people come from the area where it could of been sent from.

Yep I've gotten a ton of blank no responses, I put a label on the back with their name on it.

Glad I'm not the only one who has come across this, and I hope everyone who hasn't done theirs will be more organized than I. Luckily, the stamp mark helped out a lot and I think I figured it out (waiting on a response from that person). Just kinda freaked me out for a minute.

Yeah, seems a lot of people don't get it when you put:

    M_____________ & M_______________

Seems best to just write in their names yourself.

Good times, good times! Smiley smile

I numbered mine, have received around 75% of them, and so far, everyone has put their name on it!!

I found the number system helps me locate them in the spreadsheet to mark their RSVP choice too.

I would wait a little bit and see if you can use the process of elimination to figure it out.
