Got a sunburn yesterday and don't want to look like a lobster by this Sunday

Rachael from Nearlyweds, on July 12, 2010 at 11:26 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

Hi all, so I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding this Sunday (the 18th) and I got a sunburn over the weekend. (I was outside knitting with friends haha) The redness is in awkward places because I was wearing a v-neck and capris! Any ideas on how to get rid of the redness/not be pealing at the wedding would be much appreciated.

PS: I'm thinking about doing a couple of mystic tans to cover up the redness/blend the white parts. I'd do regular tanning, but I don't want to burn again, and my skin takes forever to tan in a bed. Do you think that will work?

Ide ask the people at the taning place what they think. As for the not peeling use LOTS of allow and keep moisturizing your skin. If ir doesnt hurt to much later in the week try exfoliating a bit

Get a high SPF and put on your 'burned' areas. then let the sun try to even it out. Thats what I do. And be vigilante about ALOE every night. If you feel like scratching get lotion instead Smiley winking

I suggest to rub aloe very faithfully and keep your skin moist. It helps for my skin and I burn pretty easy. Doing both of those will help with the burn/redness and the lotion will help with minimal peeling. I also think the spray tan will help too!! Best of luck!

I would also suggest aloe, because it should be changed into a tan by sunday...but if you dont use aloe, you could be peeling and that would look terrible!

Take it from a red head that doesn't tan only burns ALOE GEL not the ALOE Lotion. Make sure and read the ingredients no ALCOHOL in the lotions, it burns you up!

Don't go back into the sun, if your burnt. A tanning bed is not going to help either. Just try getting rid of the redness, aloe is great. Moisturizing is the best thing not to peel.

Thanks GreenEyes! What exactly do you mean by old face clothes though? Like a wash cloth?

I agree with the Aloe Gel. If it isn't gone in a few days or you're just feeling uncomfortable, try an oatmeal bath.
