good problem...vistaprint delivery question

Becky, on March 19, 2014 at 4:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I ordered my invites from Vistaprint late Monday night. I spent just enough to get free express delivery, and it said to make sure it was an address that could get delivery during the day & that they'd be delivered Monday. I work from home Mondays, so I figured that was perfect. Then lo & behold...I got an email and a UPS tracking number this morning that says they've shipped & should arrive tomorrow....when I am downtown working Smiley sad

Does anyone know if they'll leave them at my door or if I have to sign? UPS's site doesn't say delivery required, but who knows. I live in an apartment building & can buzz in delivery guys from my cell phone & am thinking I could leave a note on the front door. Any other thoughts or knowledge on this?

Call the UPS hub, and ask them if you can give special instructions for the package.

Can you go on UPS website and ask them to hold the package at their location for pickup? As long as you have the tracking number that shouldnt be a problem.

UPS is usually good about leaving packages, as long as none of the special service have been selected (like signature required). If they can't deliver, they are supposed to try two more times.

Well calling UPS after their site wouldn't let me register & add driver instructions...was about the most frustrating thing I've done in a year! UGH! I live in an apartment building and it's "driver discretion" if they leave it. I'm going to put a signed note on the door & hopefully they'll leave it. They were able to tell me it's not marked to require a signature. I'm glad they're being delivered earlier than expected, but I really don't want to be stressing about them actually being by my door when I get home!

I worked for UPS for 6 years. They will leave it at your door UNLESS, 1) The person or company that shipped it specified that a signature is required (it wasn't when i ordered from VP) or 2) The UPS driver doesn't feel that the area is safe (if it gets stolen, UPS is liable for it.)
