So we had an appointment with our MD this afternoon and he asked about our wedding, we stressed concern over Covid and with a medical opinion he basically assured us our feelings that even with the spike now it should be back to normal by September and we should have little to no concern

Let me rephrase this, our MD was talking in terms of Mine and my FH's wedding ONLY.... he was saying that as far as OUR PLANS were concerned we should have little to no worries for our small wedding outdoors.

Additionally he didn't say it would be cured, he didn't say it would be gone, he only talked about US having a semi-normal safe wedding outdoors.

Hopefully we all know that the new norm will include masks, and covid is going to be here for a minute - which will be a part of our new norm.

I never said the WHOLE WORLD.... I was ONLY talking in terms of OUR WEDDING... MY WEDDING... NO ONE has said this is going to be gone from the world, I did not say the world would be back to normal. Please read my update.

We were talking about FL and the current rise and we followed the current (past) pattern which is being hopeful and optimistic, but we all also agreed that the Government can't shut whole shut downs again (noting that states that haven't fully reopened are remaining in "safe" mode longer).

Covid isn't leaving us for a while, this I'm sure of, but I am also very optimistic that a smaller wedding is pretty safe for October, even in FL. Will there be safe measures in place with Social Distancing - absolutely, will there be mandatory masks - absolutely, Have I made appropriate plans for all of this - absolutely.

We are all essential workers, we're not dumb - we know the risks, we know the precautions that have to be taken and I assure you, I've made every safe measure needed to ensure a SAFE - COVID Friendly wedding possible.

The WORLD will not be back to NORMAL, but the case numbers should be at the new norm of manageable. - Please read my revision statement. My comment was ONLY in reference to MY WEDDING and our plans - not the world or the USA. We're not dumb or naive in thinking that covid will be gone forever, but we are very optimistic in regards to watching the trends of this virus and knowing that if it follows previous suit, we'll be back to a "safe" period to be able to have OUR (safe and smaller) WEDDING the way we planned it.

Oh I don't think you're being dumb lol. I simply agree with the other people here that your md seems very optimistic. In no way shape or form am I telling you to postpone anything. I don't plan on postponing a darn thing whatsoever even if knock on wood the state were to go back to locked out which I agree with you I doubt that's going to happen. I think you should go forward with your day and I encourage you to everything but I do disagree with him and if anything I want you and your future husband to be safe.
