Going natural

Amanda, on September 29, 2020 at 12:26 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 2 11
Is anyone not wearing makeup to their wedding? I might just do my own hair and no makeup, I know I can hire someone but it just seems too much to do.

I didn’t wear make up! I don’t wear make up in general so I didn’t feel the need to even for my wedding day

Amanda, I recommend wearing make-up on your wedding day. There are some great BB and CC creams. I've had friends who didn't wear any make-up and they regretted it later. Most have had it added to their photos which is a royal pain. You can do a very natural look, but it will just look polished in your photos ( accent your natural beauty is what I mean). I'm in very poor health and I've not worn make-up in months (always wear sunscreen if outside), but I'm definitely wearing it on my wedding day. Best of luck and Congratulations!!!

Do you have sisters or a mother who is totally enjoying such things? My sister was like "ohh, can I make your hair and makeup? Please, let me do, I'll make you the most beautiful princess ever! May I???..."
But if you don't want efford for hair and makeup that is totally legitimate. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

Im not hiring anyone to do my HMU but I have opted to do my own. I don’t wear much makeup on a regular basis, but I do know professional pictures look much better with make up vs without.
I’d reconsider the no makeup. There are a lot of great YouTube tutorials if that’s your concern.

Honestly it depends. If you have flawless skin go for it. I do not have bad skin but I have my imperfects and with two professional photographers I want my skin to look good. I mean depends on the person. I rarely wear make up and even then I went for a natural look with a pop of color. I would at least use foundation to smooth out your skin and maybe natural blush and eye shadow? Kind of a barely there look.

I plan on not wearing any make-up! I wore some for my engagement pics and I didnt really care for it.
I've only worn makeup three times in my life for one day each.

I would suggest taking some photos at home in your wedding dress with your hair as close to how you will have it on the big day as you can get, and see if you like the way they look. So, if you are getting married outdoors, I would stand outside at the same time of day and take a full length and a close-up; or if you are getting married indoors, find lighting that is similar to what you will have during your ceremony/reception & use your cameras flash. See if you like the no make up look with your dress (keeping in mind professional photos will capture even more details/flaws). If you like the way they look, and you feel confident and going sans make up, then go for it! It’s your day, and you should feel comfortable and confident in the way you look. I will say, during the past 5 months of quarantine/no working I have become very accustomed to not wearing make up. However, when I tried on my dress without make up on, I thought I looked horribly washed out & “under-done” for the dress. It was like wearing a pair of old ratty running shoes with a beautiful gown LOL

I'm with you girl! Everyone keeps saying I need to wear make-up and doesn't understand why I won't (and can't). I'm actually allergic to most products and as a result break out in hives. I found this out at my sister's wedding of all things! I'm having someone do my hair for me because they offered to only charge me like 30 dollars and I've seen her work. Anyway, my suggestion is if you don't want to wear make up, then don't. Don't let anyone make you feel like your making the wrong decision for you, because in the end its your day and you should feel comfortable and happy with your decision Smiley smile

I’d suggest a bit of tinted moisturizer and mascara at the least - that’ll be just enough for no makeup- makeup.
