Going crazy with all the unknowns!!

Lindsay, on June 12, 2020 at 12:31 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 14
I know I have asked this before but my wedding is almost a month a way it is now taking place in my backyard. I’m from NY we are looking pretty good with our numbers and the phases by my wedding date July 17 we should be in phase 4 if all is good! I’m trying to plan out how many people I can have in my yard I’m hoping for at least 25-30 we can safely social distance with that amount but I am so nervous that my vendors will feel uncomfortable because Cuomo has not increased the gathering sizes yet. I am going to ask my vendors how they feel of course I’m just going crazy and I’m so upset because with only 10 people that doesn’t allow any of my bridesmaids to stand by my side not even my maids of honor 10 people is literally immediate family. I know you can all relate that this is such a hard time and a huge time in our lives and all I want is for them to be physically present. Any thoughts would be great so I know how to move forward with my plans! TIA!!

The unknowns are the worst. We are in Virginia and postponed our April wedding to September. Right now we can have 50 people, but we had a 100 person guest list. I have a back up list of 50, but what if I invite 50 and then we enter phase 3 and I can have the original 100??… It’s all enough to make you go nuts.

Definitely talk to your vendors sooner than later about how they feel for all different scenarios. Then you don’t have any last-minute disappointments.

I’m also still so confused about the phases by July 7th my county will be in phase 4 which includes entertainment so I don’t see why I can’t have atleast 25-30 people in my yard it’s all so confusing!!

Hi there! Cuomo did approve “grad celebrations” up to 150 as long as it was outside. So I think you’ll be ok as long as you don’t mind people wearing masks, your vendors should be cleaning stuff being touched like crazy and you probably won’t be able to have “buffet style” food. Good luck with everything!

Im in Ohio we can have up to 300 with social distancing of tables 6ft and dancing in social bubbles. My wedding is in October. Getting married regardless. Either things will continue to get better or have a second waive. Agree the unknowns stink!

I agree and this is literally in my backyard just the ceremony and some food saving the wedding celebration for next year hoping things continue to get better I can easily socially distance with 30 people in my yard hoping it works out for all of us either way I’ll just zoom people in but still would really be heartbroken if my bridesmaids couldn’t stand by my sideSmiley sad

You should be ok with that size a group, outside.

    Good luck!

5 regions in NY went into phase 3 yesterday. that means if all goes well they will be in phase 4 in 2 weeks. the guidelines for phase 4 will be released before phase 4 obviously. the gatherings will increase. cuomo will most likely give a capacity for indoor venues and a # of people allowed to gather outdoor. already june 26 theyre allowing outdoor graduations of 150 people. phase 4 includes all entertainment like broadway, etc so clearly it has to be more than 10 people. my venue predicts he might do 50% capacity but only time will tell! dont worry too much trust me he will allow larger gatherings soon

IDK if you saw but gathering sizes in NY have been increased to 25 (for phase 3) - So you’ll have at least 25 people, and I would think be allowed even more by July. We’re on Aug 22 so we’re really hoping we’ll be able to have our 100 person reception. Fingers crossed! With the numbers continuing to trend in a positive direction we’re getting really hopeful!
