Glow-stick send off: yes or no?

So we did this and it was a huge hit! It was a last minute decision and we bought 2 500packs off amazon for a total of like $30. Our DOC put them out during dinner and people started making glasses, bracelets, all sorts of things with them and it really was fun to watch people dance with all these glow sticks. Then for the grand exit, our DOC passed more sticks out and it was fun! I haven’t gotten pics back yet but people had a fun time with them all night!

I think they’re nice and it looks great in photos. I would do it

It looks nice in photos, but I'm not a fan of them at all. It's so staged, and that's I don't like it.

While I do love seeing pictures of people's send offs, and glow sticks look especially fun, in reality, I think they are kind of a buzz kill for the party. It seems to signal the end for many of your guests and they may leave shortly after the send off photos. After spending all that money and time planning, I wanted to have everyone there, me included, until the very last second.

I like the idea! It is such a beautiful photo op.

Definitely do it. I don't think you will regret it.

Not all cameras can handle glowsticks. Because of the shades and how they put light out, they either cancel out other colors or they dim the color potential of the photo. Some (read: very, very expensive) can however.

I see these solar lights popping up in stores and I think they would be cool aisle runners but my wedding will be at 2.p.m so the light wouldn' show
There' other lights and I don' know if it will be dark enough for them to show up
So by the time we would do this in the dark my photographer would be gone...i think
But I did buy little party favors for the kids these glow in the dark bracelets
There' talk of an after party I think it will be fun for the kids to have the glow bracelets help us keep an eye on them

I think it looks good in photos, I have never actually attended a wedding where they did one though.
