Glassware in bulk

Gabriele, on June 3, 2019 at 3:51 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15
Im wanting to purchase glassware in bulk for my wedding. I was thinking about having a station where people can write their names on the glasses and take it home. I prefer this over plastic because you know, environmental reasons. Any one recommend any good bulk websites? I don’t have a venue that provides glasses, we are serving beer and wine, and we have max 200 guests attending. Thank you!!

Dollar Tree would be a good place to look! You can order items in bulk on their website

Agree with the dollar tree idea, but If that ends up being too expensive you could always find compostable/recyclable cups!!

A dollar store would be the most inexpensive but I wouldn’t expect guests to hold onto their same glass all night or take it home.

    Also check https://www.webstaurantstore.com and https://www.discountmugs.com
Depending on what type of glasses you want, both have good deals on bulk orders.

You should go to places like Michael's or target or Walmart or where ever that would sell bulk Mason jars because Mason jars tend to be cheaper in a 12 count pack. They're on sale sometimes. I got mine from Target for $8 for a pack of 12 and it's 16 ounces. You can get smaller ounces for cheaper too.

How about renting the glassware? Will everyone want a glass to take home? We’re at capacity for mismatched glasses, we only want matching sets these days! 😂

I agree with renting as well. How will you store them and who will wash them? Also what do you do with them after the wedding? It my seem cheaper to buy but the cost can quickly add up.

Did you find somewhere to buy the glasses for your reception, Gabriele? Where did you end up sourcing them from?

I also recommend Dollar Tree. You can order glasses by the case online.

If you haven't found an idea that you love so far. Maybe thinking about not only having the guests write their names on the glassware but have them painted beforehand with the wedding date on it like with the mason jar idea (maybe the ones with the hands?). That way it would be a fun keepsake from the wedding and you can make sure people have something to drink out of too.

    I used BargainMugs.com!
they have several different glassware options, and you can put a design/logo on it!
theyre a little pricey, but I was using them as a favor/keepsake too!

I had to order 96 beer and wine glasses for our wedding.

I found Walmart was cheaper than dollar tree. 12 glasses for 9.99 vs. 1 dollar per glass at the dollar store. I ordered 48 stemless wine glasses and 48 beer pint glasses. With taxes it came out to $85.

You can also check your local Offerup, 5miles and Craigslist. I have seen restaurant liquidations on there.
