Hi guys!! I was curious if anyone has or is getting married with their glasses on. I can't decide if I want to get contacts or not, because I feel like most brides do. I personally like my face better with glasses on, but I'm so torn...

We both wear glasses everyday. I stopped wearing contacts at all about 4 years ago. Now when I don’t have glasses on, I just don’t look like myself. I want to look back at pictures and see myself in them. Because if that, we are both going to wear our glasses. Thanks to engagement pictures we had a trial of what pictures will be like with them (our pictures are all stunning! No weird glare!

I have thought about getting some new frames online to fancy them up a bit since I change my frames at least every two years anyways. But I like how my frames look, so if I don’t find exactly what I have in mind, I won’t be upset. I also know that I can take them off for a few pictures if I want to. I like the versatility.
One reason I stopped wearing contacts is because my eyes would get tired more easily, and would sometime dry out. I don’t want to be uncomfortable on my wedding day- and I fever is my don’t want to feel like I can’t keep my eyes open at my reception!

I wear glasses but I'm wearing contacts for the wedding. I haven't work contacts in the awhile but I feel like if I wear my glasses the makeup won't show as much haha. Im use to my glasses just like you , but still want contacts for the wedding!

I’d wear them! My husband wore his glasses to our wedding. He has never worn contacts in his life and has no desire to. His glasses are just part of what he looks like at this point, it almost would’ve been weird if he didn’t wear them. He did take them off for some of our couples pictures, but not all of them.

I work in optometry. If you don’t normally wear contacts, they could be bothersome for your day. You would need to build up “wear time” to be able to wear for the entire wedding. I would suggest 2-3 weeks prior to the day. Make sure you get a daily contact lens and that they get fit by an eye care professional! I am your girl if you have glasses or contact lens related questions. 🥰

I am the same way! I feel like my glasses are apart of me and I like the way I look in them!

I told my photographer that I wanted to take some important photos, like some bride groom shots and family photos, with and without glasses so that I at least had some without so then if I am looking back on my photos is 20 years and my glasses style is so not in anymore, then I will have some without! HAHA!

Honestly, I love the way I look with glasses, but they make my face hot! Thick lenses, lol. I'm also paying a pretty penny for HAMU, so I want all of it visible for the pictures 😉 so I'm wearing my contacts for the wedding.

If it's what you wear on a regular basis it has become a part of you. if every one knows you to wear your glasses you'd actually look different with out them the glasses are apart of who you are now...

My FH wears glasses and I always find it hilarious to see people’s reactions to him without glasses because he looks so different. He’s been wearing them since he was like 5 and I can’t imagine him not wearing his glasses for the ceremony, they are just part of him. On my wedding day, I definitely still want to look like myself, so I think it’s up to you how you feel most comfortable and confident. And definitely follow the advice of the awesome eye doctors who commented! Good luck!

Really?! Wow good for you! I have had glasses since 2nd grade and i am now 33.. i HATE my glasses they get in the way of everything!! I am shorter than my boyfriend and hugging his chest with my glasses is a nightmare! We are always taking my glasses off before we hug.. i have tried to wear contacts since i was 21... sometimes they bother me and i am forced to wear my glasses but i prefer how i look with contacts in vs glasses and i pray on my wedding day the contacts will be VERY good to me! (Its odd some times i can go 3 days with contacts in and others only 3 min before they bother me) .. but if you dont see a down side to hugging and kissing with glasses on great! (What’s you trick!??? i would seriously love to know!!!)

If you like yourself with glasses, wear your glasses! I need to wear glasses basically all the time (legally when I drive) but I didn't wear them on our wedding day. They didn't feel formal to me and I didn't want them to block my eye makeup, or have my face makeup rub off on them. I did carry them in a bridal clutch and put them on for things like speeches (they weren't standing right next to us) but that was it.

If you like your glasses on better than go for it! You should do whatever makes you feel the best. I am also currently debating whether to wear my glasses or get contacts but I haven’t even worn contacts since I was 13 so I’m not sure I can even put them in anymore 😅

We’ve both had glasses since elementary too so we are very used to them. He is only 2 inches taller than me so hugging isn’t a problem. My head is always over his shoulder lol. I’ve tried contacts and had really bad reactions to the solutions so it was never really an option for me. He hates how he looks without glasses on so he’s never even tried contacts. They usually aren’t an issue. When we kiss or ahem escalate thingsSmiley winking, we take them off, that’s the only time they get in the way.

Normally, i would rather wear my glasses because i think they make my face more interesting which is def coming from my insecurities. Personally, on my wedding day i want to truly look back and see myself looking the most beautiful i’ll ever be, and unobstructed by my glasses. I would also hate to look back on my pictures and hate the style of my glasses years down the road. I would also not want to be pushing my glasses up all day. but that’s me!!! go with what you prefer! maybe try with and without your glasses when you do your trial hair and makeup???
