Gifts for readers?

Mary, on March 10, 2011 at 3:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I'm going to be going my bridesmaids purses with their wedding day jewelry in them. What do you think of these as gifts for my readers. (One loves music and the 80's, one loves Paris, and one had a sushi purse that she wore out and hasn't been able to replace.)

Do I need to put anything inside of them, or are they okay as gifts on their own?

(They are all from etsy and would cost ~$50 total, for all three, including shipping.)

    I think they're fine on their own! If you want to put something inside them, maybe just do cheap things, like a chapstick, lip gloss, hand mirror, and a little packet of tissues? Along with a heartfelt, handwritten note?

    Do people really not give gifts to their readers? Mine are all coming from out of town (one internationally). They are invited to the RD, so I thought it would be rude to be giving basically everyone else except them gifts. $50 is also a drop in the bucket for the insanity this wedding has become.

    The note is a given. Our readers are my three best friends, but they all live away from me. I have been writing them real notes (we email only in emergencies or just before visits to coordinate details) for years! I thought they did it with all of their friends, but it seems that I am the only one that they write to, even though I have lots of penpals.

    I think that I am least thrilled with the Paris one, and will keep looking, but I'm going to buy the other ones ASAP.

    Mary, I like your idea and think that's great. I'm also giving similar gifts to my readers (well the girls at least)...they are my brother and FH's 2 sisters. I got a great deal on Vera Bradley bags. Not sure what to do for my brother (whose birthday is our rehearsal night).

    If you're not going to get the Paris one, would you mind sharing the link? I love it!

    @Justine

    It's from etsy:

    (Sadly, it was also the most expensive one...)
