Gift Groom gives Bride?

Nicole, on December 30, 2016 at 9:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30

I got a watch to gift to my to be husband on our wedding day. We have the same account so he knew I got him something but he couldn't tell what. He then asked me if he's suppose to get me something for our wedding day? What are some ideas and is that something that actually happens in return?

I think my BIL got my sister an iPad and she got him an iPod touch and a watch...or something like that. Treat it like Christmas/your birthday.

    FHs gift is me.

I dont understand this trend. A simple letter to each other would suffice.

We did sentimental things. He got me a moon phase necklace for the full moon of our wedding day. I got him a keychain of the date and coordinates of the wedding.

We're already paying for a wedding, a party and a vacation. I'd rather put that money toward something extra at the honeymoon.

The watch was a good deal so I honestly would be crazy not to get it, this year for Xmas we didn't get each other gifts because we got a DSLR camera. Just liked the cute idea of a watch

We're sticking to letters to each other since that's more our personality plus we're funding the wedding. I know a friend got earrings from her groom and she got him a watch. That watch/earrings gifts seems to be a common one in our circle for weddings but I personally like a letter or card instead.

FH and I aren't doing gifts but my little sister got personalized Ray Bans with her new name on them. I've seen classic pieces of jewelry too (pearl necklace, diamond earrings, etc.).

I plan to buy a simple bracelet for him to wear that is personalized to go with the letter I will write to him to read during our first look.

FH wants to buy me diamond earrings. We share an account so it really depends on what we can afford.

We didn't do gifts. We bought each other rings, so we figured that would work Smiley smile

Yes, I too felt like the rings were the "gifts"......also the fact that we wrote out own vows, that felt like a gift, too. Smiley smile

With the date of our wedding, we're not doing gifts, as we just exchanged lovely Christmas presents. We were originally going to do cards but we decided to skip that too because we just exchanged really long xmas cards/letters that said basically everything we would say...we're not going to do some sort of exchange just for the photo op.

We are planning to buy each other a new fragrance to wear on the wedding day. Something we'd buy anyways but now we have one scent we can always associate with the wedding

We haven't actually discussed it yet. But I'm planning on ordering him a set of hand- carved, double nine Dominos. He loves dominos, his dad taught him how to play and the set he has are in an old carb board box that is falling apart. We don't get to splurge often, so I want this to be a gift we can give to put firstborn when they get married.

I do not expect my FH to get me anything. He already got me the ring I've always dreamed of. Though I am getting him a little something (a boudoir photo book) but he has no idea. I really don't get the trend either with giving each other gifts.

My FH and I haven't talked about it...but a small thing I'm giving him is a journal I started a year out from our wedding date.
