Ghosted by a vendor?!

Marissa, on March 1, 2020 at 6:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Has anyone ever experienced this?
2 weeks ago my fiancé and I met with a decor rental vendor in our town. It’s just one lady who runs it and she has a huge shop full of stuff. We picked everything out and I was happy upon leaving. She said she would have our quote within the week to my email.

Fast forward to last week, I didn’t hear from her. I thought okay, people get busy. So I texted her at the end of the week and again didn’t hear back. Now we have come to the end of another week. I messaged her on FB and she read my message and didn’t reply. At this point I’m really frustrated because she rushed me in making an appointment with her by claiming my wedding takes place in a busy wedding time for her and now I’m feeling ignored. Our appointment went really well and she said I was the easiest bride she had ever worked with so I don’t think she’s ignoring me due to that type of reason.
At this point, I’m hesitant to give her my business (if she even gets back to me at all) which makes me disappointed because I loved the decor I picked out. 2 weeks of non responsiveness seems extremely unprofessional to me. Thoughts?

I don't beg people to give them money. Find someone else and if she does respond let her know you didn't hear from her and moved on. Happened to me w a photographer and I found a better one.

If things are bad before you book, there’s no reason to believe they’ll get better. It’s a shame, but it’s time to move on.

I agree w this. If they aren’t responsive now, imagine the potential stress you could be going thru on the big day. Find a different vendor is my vote!

Yes that is my biggest concern is how they will be on the day of the wedding. Totally agree.

I had a similar situation with a potential vendor. We ended up not doing business with them and things ended up working better anyway. You’re better off finding a different rental company, you don’t need that kind of stress for your wedding. You definitely need to be able to rely on your vendors for such a special day.

Also agree with Kristen, move on. If she is this unresponsive now, just imagine your wedding day stress. I would be annoyed after the first week passed. Response time is actually a big factor for me in hiring my vendors. Everyone is busy, but this is their business. If she does contact you, you can politely say you have moved on. I’d wait 2+ weeks to respond though Smiley laugh
