Getting ready robes!

Megan Jo, on March 30, 2015 at 8:46 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I know this subject comes up a lot but I feel like my question is a little different than normal. We are having a photographer to take getting ready pictures (my mom really wants them). I was looking at robes and as cute as the satin bride robe is, I think it is kind of a waste since I will only wear it once. I was looking at the lace ones but I think there expensive even on etsy however I could wear it more than once. My question is, what do you wear under them? For married brides do you regret buying them or do you wish you had? ETA I do not have a bridal party so I am only looking at one for myself.

My girls and I got colorful kimonos. We loved them!! They each picked a color they like, I was in a beautiful green. I did not get a white bride robe, but something I would enjoy beyond that day. I was the only one in green. Underneath, I wore yoga pants and a tank top. they were not expensive, and I liked having something silky to wear

I got robes also and I will probably just wear a tank top and some pj shorts or spandex shorts underneath while I'm getting ready.

I thought the whole point of the robes were that they are easy to take off without ruining your hair/makeup? Wear a shirt underneath kind of defeats that purpose, right? I would just wear a bra/underwear under it.

Spaghetti strap tank tops can be pulled down. The tie on my robe was slippery, and I didn't want to be gaping with all the people around.

True. All of the people around me while getting ready had already seen me naked at one point or another anyway haha.

The last wedding I was in, the bride gave us actual terrycloth robes with our names on the back. I use that robe every day now because it was more practical than a silk road. For my wedding though because I'm going to have to drive to my hair location, I'm going to wear one of FH's button up shirts and a pair of leggings.

I was in a DW in Hawaii and got a silk robe (I think VS). I think I just wore a bra and skimpy shorts under. We were just in the bridal suite. I love it and still wear it!

I wanted to get robes for my bridesmaids, but we're getting ready at the salon so not really appropriate lol.

I'm getting cute kimono robes from ComfyClothing (will actually be ordering this week!) I'll be wearing shorts underneath it Smiley tongue but since they're cotton robes they're not as slippy

Following this! I have NO clue which type of robe to get for my girls and myself. I want them for pictures and the fact you won't mess up your make up or hair.
