Getting ready photos

Did anyone not have their photographer take pictures of them getting ready? My DOC suggested this to me when we met up last time. I'm not sure if it is a waste of time or not.

@Nonna I actually like that one. Even from a side profile you look so excited.

@Anne I guess that's a good idea to consider. I definitely do not want them there with no make up or dress on

I'm the kind of person who never takes a good candid shot, so I do not want to see a professional pic of that haha. I'm mostly unsure because I don't want to look back and regret not having them.

They also got ones of my dad/brother that I love.

Bad candids are still fun to have after the fact Smiley smile it all helps remember the day.

I can only afford limited photography time (3 hours and hoping to squeeze the budget for an extra hour) so we are not going to be doing getting ready photos, there are better uses for our photography time.

I definitely want them. My photog will arrive 2 hours before our ceremony to do getting ready pics and also to get some separate pics of me and my maids and FH and his men before the wedding since we are not doing a first look.

I love the getting ready photos. It's one of the things I'm most looking forward to that day (getting ready, not the photos)!

I want photos of my mom and my best friend and her daughter getting ready and helping me with my dress. And I'm excited to see my fiancé get ready and getting our 1 yr old son ready as well

We be getting the get ready photos as well

I feel like getting ready is part of the wedding day!

It's funny. When I met with photographers. They stated that getting ready photos aren't ACTUALLY getting ready photos. You're supposed to be100% made up with hair good to go, but in whatever outfit. And then obviously putting the dress on etc lol

    So yeah we're doing them

@Anne I love that dress shot! The reason my candid's are usually bad is because I have a lazy eye. Normally you wouldn't notice it unless I'm tired, angry, or excited. That's another reason I am on the fence about these. I don't want a pic taken of me off guard with my right eye floating around doing it's own thing.

We probably wont be doing professional ones because my photographer time is limited as well, however my daughter is an amazing photographer so she will be doing a few of us getting ready and her BFF will probably snap a few using the same camera so my daughter can be in some. I am going to make sure to get a few of me at the top of the staircase of the historic mansion I am staying in, prior to the ceremony.

Our photographer is coming at the tail end of us getting ready so he can still do some "getting ready" shots but he won't be there the whole time.

We have a 6 hr photography package so we are skipping it...kinda. I can totally see my sis taking pics n FFIL would be taking pics of the guys. The both have a camera in their hands for any event.

Our photographers arrived before 8am and stayed at the reception until after 11pm.

They helped me in to my dress and laced the corset and on and on...we had a ball with them.

They put us very much at ease. We took them with us to Hell for ice cream and to the pub during the gap, sat them with our guests for dinner and even danced with them!

I'm skipping them. I was never a fan of them and then when I was a BM, and we did getting ready photos, I still wasn't a fan

Our photographer came after everyone's hair and makeup was already done. They're some of my favorite photos with my girls, and for us it was a good icebreaker for the girls who hadn't had pro pics taken before.

I am planning to schedule the photographer on the wedding day for a longer time period for both getting ready photos and about half an hour for just bridal photos. I know a lot of girls do a bridal shoot weeks before the wedding but I didn't want to spend the extra money, time, and coordinating to make that happen so just tacked on another 30 minutes day of to have them take some pics of just me.
