Getting Ready outfits!?

Mrs.Sanok, on June 7, 2018 at 7:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 37

I have been thinking about what to do about getting ready outfits. I am almost thinking not to even worry about it! I have been just thinking about telling my girls to wear what ever is most comfortable for them!

Is anyone else just not even going to worry/stress about it? Has anyone who is already married not worry/stress about it?

I know my girls are not props so I do not want them to wear something because I want the getting ready pictures to look perfect! I feel no matter what they will be perfect and we would all be happier in outfits that we feel comfortable in!

I've actually been debating the same thing, I keep looking up different outfits and I just can't justify spending so much money on something that my girls might never wear again. I think I would rather have everyone in their normal attire to show everyone's personality and if anything I might get myself a nice robe so I can feel pampered.

I'm telling myself to not stress about, if I see something on sale I might grab it, but if not it will be no big deal!

I did the same thing. 3 of us wore button ups and my MoH wore a sports bra and loose tank that she could step out of. I think my mom might have gotten a photo or two of us getting ready, but it's nothing glamorous. I like how cute the photos turn out when people match, but my bridesmaids don't have that kind of personality and I wanted to get dressed before the photographer showed up.

I bought my girls these robes. I figured they were pretty and don’t say Bridesmaids so they can wear them again. I know at least one of my bridesmaids does still use it. She loves it. But if you don’t feel it’s inportant to you to have then it is definitely not a big deal to skip it IMO. It’s not a major thing in the grand scheme of your wedding day.

That is my thought exactly! I know my girls will not wear them and I will not wear them!

I am kind of thinking of wearing one of those PJ onesie! I love those things! I have a storm trooper one at home that I wear sometimes just because!

I wasn't stressed about it either, so my sister volunteered to buy us simple robes (no monograms, no floral prints... just simple satin robes) to wear. The photographer will be capturing moments of us getting ready so she wanted us to look somewhat presentable lol I'm glad she thought of it.

I love the kimono floral robes. Having trouble finding some since I have bridesmaids of all different sizes.

I didn't want to stress it either, but my BMs wanted robes. So they went ahead and got us robes 😂

I got my stepdaughters matching robes to wear but, only because I thought they were cute. I haven't settled on getting ready pictures. It seems kind of unnecessary to me.

I'm not taking getting ready photos, really solves all this. They are coming an hour before ceremony so they get some dress putting on photos and that is it. No one cares about pics of you putting on make-up or getting your hair done. Do you think in 30 years you are going to go through your album and think, "wow if only we have more photos of me putting makeup on"? Nope.

Ask your girls what they're comfortable with. Honestly I just wore a t-shirt and some leggings. Then when I got back from getting my hair and makeup done I changed into my robe, with just underwear and spanx underneath. That way I had no bra lines or anything. All my girls arrived dressed except my MOH who got dressed with me. She just wore a t-shirt and leggings as well.

I’m not getting my hair and makeup done at home. I’m planning on wearing cute gym shorts with a button up shirt so I don’t mess up my hair and makeup. Cute and comfy.

That is fun! I just do not want to make them wear anything that they do not want to! But that is awesome that they wanted too!

I'm the opposite end of that spectrum. We're not doing getting ready pictures but I intend on giving out monogrammed button downs. I figured a button down and a pair of yoga pants is probably the best outfit for getting ready since robes and pj's aren't conducive to running a last minute errands. You want something comfy that you won't have to cut off once hair and makeup is done.
I want to foster some comradery in the bridal suite. I've been in some that felt like work or someone was causing drama. I'm hoping it will help with that.

I am defiantly planning on asking them and seeing what they want! I am really more curious what other people are doing and also is it just Pinterest and other things pushing the need to wear robes and things like that. Or is it that everyone does it!

I wasn't going to worry about it but my sister (MOH) who is a little extra wants us to wear robes. I only have one other bridesmaid so it wont break the bank.

I am also not taking getting ready photos. My photographer is coming 30 min before and I will be ready but not in my dress and we will do the photos of my mom helping me do up the buttons. That being said I did get my girls matching robes with their names on them because they’re really cute and we are doing a bridal party sleepover the night before the wedding! So I’m sure we will end up taking some non professional photos. But they’re not required to wear them. However, my girls are the type that will love these!

I think you just have to know you’re group and what they will or won’t enjoy and then go from there. It’s definitely not something you need to stress about.

I'm telling them to wear a button down flannel. I know they all have one so I said just wear what you have.

Hey there! I was given clothing before to "get ready" with brides - they all became PJ's or were thrown away... I did not spend the money on that for my wedding. Our pictures started when we were all dressed, I got a robe as a gift from a friend so I wore that for a few pics with my dress - request from my photographer - we did just fine without it! I think it is an unnecessary expense.

I have a MOH and 1 bridesmaid..and my 11yr old daughter will be with us getting ready. The MOH/BM both wanted monogrammed items which was shocking to me...so I went ahead and ordered satin button up over-sized nightshirts with their monogram on them. They are purple with black monogram and they can wear leggings or shorts of they want, otherwise they are long enough to wear on their own Smiley smile
