However, some states do not recognize online ordination, so before starting the process, check out your state’s marriage laws. We had a friend get “ordained”/officiant privileges for one day. We walked into the county office and it took us less than 30 minutes. Just explain what you want; it’s a pretty common so most of them know what to do. We did have to pay a fee; i think the fees are waived if you get your friend ordained through an online church
