Getting married with braces....

So I'm an adult brace face. My orthodontist won't take them off for the wedding. I don't get much of a choice in this since I'm not paying for them (the navy is). I'm half tempted to put off the wedding till they're off next year. What would you do? Should I just embrace the brace face and hope they...

I am wearing braces for the second time. I am a perfectionist, one ortho refused to put back on and my ortho now said my teeth were only 2mm off (never wore my retainer). I wanted my teeth super straight and I wanted straight for wedding, so I had them put back on. I told my orthodontist I want them off for my wedding, which he agreed was a good time. Thank God, because if he refused I would go to a dentist who could take them off or another orthodontist who would. My friend had hers taken off for wedding (she paid 1000) and had them put back on after the wedding.

I am going to beg and plead for him to take them off just for the day. I know I won't be ready for them to be off for good but ill be grateful just for the day

If he does take them off, you will want them off at least 3-4 days beforehand. When I got mine taken off I couldn't eat ANYTHING because my teeth hurt so bad. Worse than an adjustment.

My dentist keeps trying to get me to get braces again and I refuse to have them for my wedding and I don't want them again anyways. The last time I had them I could not eat and they caused my gums to turn red and hurt because of a allergy. So I don't want that problem at my wedding. If you have to have them could they switch to the clear brackets so that are not that noticeable.

Mrscountrylace - the navy is cheap. I don't think clear brackets are even an option.

I think you should embrace it and continue on with your wedding. The objective is to be married to the man you love, not just have some cute pictures. Years from now you won't look like those photos anymore anyway.
