Getting married on Star Wars day

Britney, on December 3, 2017 at 6:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

So my FH and I have decided on a Disney themed wedding because after all I am a princess (kidding). We've looked at some venues and our favorite doesn't have any of the dates that we wanted in April available, so he begged me for May 4th (Star Wars day), which I had no problem with. I love Star Wars and Disney technically owns it now. Aside from a dessert table, how else can I incorporate Star Wars without taking it too far or drifting away from what I want? I thought about sticking to my centerpiece ideas, but instead of table numbers doing different names of Star Wars planets? Please help!

Just because you get married on May 4th doesn't mean you have to incorporate the Star Wars theme. You really don't have to have a theme for a wedding. Just color schemes and decide on an atmosphere, i.e. romantic, classy, vintage, etc.

I was at a wedding and the groom wanted a Star Wars themed wedding and the compromise was their recessional song was the theme from Star Wars. It was awesome

I'd execute differently, but along the lines of table names

You can incorporate it in your cake toppers, subtle touches on invites or STDs, charms or a handle for your bouquet or bout. You already mentioned centerpieces and tables, you can also add an element to your escort cards.

Both FH and I are huge Star Wars and HP fans so we are adding lots of easter eggs that only fellow fans will catch. If you aren't a fan you may want to tread lightly.

I think there are ways to do this that still give the wedding vibe and less of a kids birthday vibe. Our friends incorporated a lot of Marvel into their wedding. Their cake was half white and half Marvel themed. Her garter was comic themed. Her flowers were paper comic book flowers. I think the signs above look classy and still Star Wars enough to get the point across.

I'm getting married on may 4th 2018, we are doing very subtle things to incorporate the star wars theme, with a star wars/ harry potter cake topper and tables named after each character, little star wars legos in the centerpieces

We are doing a Disney themed wedding because that is where we got engaged. I’ve attached how we are incorporating Star Wars into ours. The Death Star flower arrangement will be of the centerpieces for a table. Each table willl be a different Disney movie theme. The boutonnières will all have a different Disney LEGO character pinned with their flower. How ever all I found that looked really cute were the Star Wars ones. Hope this helps. You can check my photo page to see my other centerpieces if you like.

Check out Pinterest. They have a ton of ideas from soundtrack used as your music (Across The Stars is a romantic instrumental), to celestial cake to using a lightsaber as a bouquet handle. The sky is the limit.
