Depends on your state. Some allow you to pick it up 30 days in advance.

Just google "Marriage license" and your state.

Google "Marriage license in [your county and state here]" and you'll be able to see when you need to go to the courthouse to pick it up and any requirements and fees.

In PA, they process it for 3 days I believe, so it was suggested we go 2-3 weeks before the wedding to be safe. It's only valid for 60 days, so don't go more than 60 days before your wedding. Looking at your date, you can go any time now.

It all depends what state you are in. For example here in the chicago suburbs we can get the marriage license 2 days before we are to get married

I applied for mine already. However, they said not to pick it up until October because it's only good for 30 days before the wedding. I'm from Jersey so I don't know if it's the same for you.

Google your state as someone said but also look at your county.

Or call the recorder's office (or whoever issues marriage licenses in your state) and ask them when you need to come in and what you need to bring. It is not worth freaking out over. It will all work out.

In Tennessee the license is only good for 30 days and must be returned within 3 business days of the marriage. We are going somewhere around mid September.

Typically 60-90 days, but it depends on your state. I'll be applying in August for my October wedding.

I'm getting married in Delaware. I can pick up my license up to 30 days before so I'm going to pick it up on Oct 6th (just in case there are problems, I want plenty of time to fix them).

In Florida there's a three day waiting period and BOTH parties have to apply in person... But you've got time, just find out what you need before hand so you don't waste a trip to the clerk!

In our county, the license is valid for 90 days...Even within the state, each county has different rules.

Michigan is 33 days. There is a 3 day waiting period, and then you must use it within 30 days. I'm going to apply for mine the first week of October, just to be sure I don't get caught up in everything else and forget.
