My future wife wants to get a dress if she adores it when she goes to the bridal shop tomorrow but everyone in her family other than her mother say it's way to early to get a dress, even if it's the PERFECT dress. She's really depressed and torn about what to do, so maybe y'all can weigh in on the matter. Is 11 months in advance too soon to get a dress?

I bought mine last week. If she thinks she found the dress, sleep on it for a night and then place that order!

Since you guys are just under a year out you can definitely purchase and order a dress. Most dresses will take 6-9 months to come plus time for alterations. However, if she does find one make sure she stops looking and doesn't book her alterations too soon -depending on when the dress is schedule to come in anyway.

I would definitely do it. I ordered my dress Sept of 2016 and it just came in today (YAY!!!) so sometimes depending on the designer they can take a while to get here.

It's never too early, as everyone has mentioned dresses can take a while to come in so its better to have it earlier than later! I would however keep the dress at a house like her mom's or another family members so you don't look at it too much, my friend kept her at home and looked at it too often which lead her to critique it and eventually hate it!

Absolutely not too early for a June 2018 wedding. I got my dress last December for a December 2017 wedding.

My wedding is in April 2018, and I just ordered my wedding dress. My wedding dress is expected to ship to my bridal shop on November 1st. It's definitely not too early!

We have a long engagement & I found a great dress over 2 yrs out. I loved it, except for the color. I was so close to buying that dress; but glad I didn't. I did buy a dress 1.5yrs ago...just have her make sure it's her dress & hold off a bit if she has any doubts about it.

And, personally, I feel there is always more than just one dress for each bride...we just have to find one of them : )

She should do whatever she wants, only you and her have a say. It's your wedding. 😊

I got my dress 11 months out, my vendor stated it would take atleast 6 months to get the dress. So I started shopping at the right time. At the end of the day she can choose whenever she wants to go. It’s her wedding!
