Gender reveal at Reception?!

Hey guys...I've been MIA for a long time dealing with work, being pregnant and trying to get through this wedding planning! Anyway, I'm back :-)

I am thinking about revealing the gender of our baby when we do our cake cutting during the reception. In my mind this was a nice idea because its probably the only time both sides of our families and our friends with all be in the same location at the same time. Currently I am 4 months and will be 6 months by our wedding date so hopefully I can wait that long, lol. However, within the last week I have been second guessing my idea. Is this cheesy...what do you think?!?!

Ooooooh! You should have them color the inside of the cake pink or blue! Have your DJ announce that you're doing the gender reveal. I'd be excited!

@AlexisM082 That's our exact plan! lol. I am going to give the results in a envelope to our cake baker and have them make the inside of one tier pink or blue. So literally we will all be finding out together!

That would be awesome!!! I have actually made a gender reveal cake for somebody before where the inside of the cake was blue ( it was a boy ). And everybody saw the color when they cut the cake! It was so cute!

Yay, glad you guys don't think its a cheesy idea! Aww...I'm getting excited again. I'm sure our family and friends will enjoy the moment. Right now everyone keeps asking me why I am waiting to find out especially because our doctor already know and its in our file!!!

The last wedding I shot- the couple announced they were expecting during their thank you speech! I loved it. Who wouldn't love another reason to celebrate!

I love Alexis' idea. If it's a girl, *please* have a strawberry cream cake, because I wanted one and I can't have it haha. But in general I love the idea, it doesn't sound cheesy at all.

I would so go for it. Lol mouth my son even before the nurse was looking for what the baby would be my son showed off several times that he was a very proud boy.
